Mooney's Grove in Visalia California is such a beautiful area for having picnics, birthday parties, or just a nice walk around the Grove. There's lots of huge Oak Trees that shade the whole area. I grew up in Exeter which is 15 miles west of Visalia. Exeter is known as "The Antique City due to all the Antique Shops. William Shatter resided in a home on Badger Hill Estates whom I met when I was little when he would come into town and shop for groceries at Nickels Payless. What an awesome human being he is! Getting off the subject, sorry! 😀
There used to be a kiddie coaster 🎢 at the entrance of the Grove which was removed in the 1980's. There's a little lake/pond you can rent little paddle boats that you make move with your feet, just like riding a bike. Mooney's Grove has been well taken care of through the years and I am proud of the conservation of the Grove, I love huge Oak Trees!
If you are ever in Visalia and you have some time to sight see, I definitely recommend stopping at Mooneys Grove. Especially if you like nature as much as I do😃.

A great park to have birthday parties or just for a nice walk with nature. Always clean and the staff are very polite. My dog and I always enjoy our walks through the park. 😊

Be out by 7:45pm (when they close at 8pm)! Don't do what I did and lose your keys right around 7;55pm. The guy who cares for the park is very serious about citing people. But he's a good man. Just DON'T DO IT!

Otherwise, it's a great, family friendly park. Did you know this park is the State's first County Park? Awesome, right? You can hang a hammock here. Apparently, not in city parks. But here it's ok. Yay!

this poor guy has fishing line wrapped around his leg.. im hoping this post will get him the help he needs. he is near the paddle boat dock. it is a death sentence if left untended. update: been here an hour and found at least 5 geese with lines crippling them. park employees have no anwers. these animals need help!

Great little park to spend a day with family. Historic buildings, an array of bird sightings, and lots of shade make this a charming spot. But don't count on this place being a spot to fish and they charge a steep fee for just the day.
