Food is tasteless, Manager or owner has severe attitude issues, standards have decreased dramatically, branch in Laudium has new ownership which explains the quality of food and service, definitely won't advise this place has a family outing in Fordsburg
Food is below average, prawn masala was unpleasant, I don't recommend this restaurant. Chicken Tikka was tasteless, the chicken pieces used in chicken Kalia was hard and inferior quality.
Best Chicken Tikka in Johannesburg... I recommend a take away though, sit down experience isn't great...

Disappointing Mutton Beryani, the rice and masala was done well but the meat was a strange odd purple colour. The Chicken Korma was atrocious, seemed more like a Chicken Masala than a Korma...Chop Suey was bland with deep fried crispy noodles. Didn't quite enjoy it and will definitely not venture back there again. Bay leaf used to be quite a lovely restaurant, maybe it was our choice of dishes - the Tikka chicken used to be good, not sure if it's the same standard as it used to be.
freindly environment, very good food, very reasonable price. neat and clean place.
I believe I'm somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to a good curry and I've frequented Bay Leaf for a number of years. They have never disappointed me or any of my guests and their food is always delicious.
