I wish we would have gotten the man’s name that shared with us the history of the US Mexico border but we just loved speaking with him. He was working on Saturday October 7th. He is amazing! Thank you! Stop by this place!

Great, free, educational park in the border. The park rangers were friendly, helpful, and informative. This stop was a lot better than I expected.

Beautiful memorial that’s part of the National Park System. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, gorgeous grounds, and a view of the bridge to Mexico just outside. Trails are lovely and a great place to picnic.

Large beautiful park and monument, commemorating the peaceful resolution of the “chamizal problem”, a decades long border dispute between Mexico and the US. As part of the resolution land was set aside to memorialize the peaceful resolution and friendship between the countries. There is a park with walking trails and also a visitors center/cultural center. Inside is a small but extremely interesting museum about the conflict and the resolution. There is also an art gallery and theater for cultural performances. The park is staffed by some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable and proud park rangers I have ever encountered. As a national monument it is park of the national park service so there is a passport stamp station inside. The outside is also a great place to walk around and the grounds open early for recreation. The park and buildings are impeccably maintained. Highly recommend this monument if you are in El Paso! You will learn a lot and enjoy yourself immensely.
