Amsterdam Bread Company

I've ate at airports around the world and yes the sandwich that took them 20 minutes to make was okay. But they don't really care. I waited line she said pay for it then I came back waited some more. Efficiency is clearly not a thing here. Management needs to review priorities. Yes you have a captive group of people with limited options but you can still try to provide a decent service.

Had a great lunch here. I ordered the avocado sandwich, which I mainly ate the inside of. The bread tasted great, but was very firm and chewy. They have a good drink selection, and I enjoyed my African rosé. The desert I chose was amazing (an apple tart type treat). The cashier worked efficiently, and the line moved quickly. The seating area was nice, though busy. Definitely pricey.

Very expensive airport grab and go - I had a egg and bacon panini but it was questionable as to whether or not it really was egg. The line was long but moved quickly and there was plenty of seating.

I am at Amsterdam Schipol airport. I'm surprising Aya by being there for her birthday in Portland. No one knows except Peyman.

It was challenging to find something healthy to eat that was wheat-free, dairy-free, and meat-free. Nothing at T1 Dubai Airport and nothing at Schipol either. No diversity of cuisine either. Just junk.

I decided that the Amsterdam Bread Co. was the best of the lot. I ordered a salmon sandwich, an avocado sandwich, and an apple pie. They were tasteless and awful, but they looked great.

People don't sell or buy goods anymore, they want marketing, and they've accepted that marketing is paramount to the product.

The Amsterdam Bread Co in Schipol has fake antique ovens, a fake grain mill, a fake water pump, and fake little cows dotting the ceiling. Nowhere in sight is their soul.

I asked ChatGPT to improve this journal entry, and it looked beautiful, but like the Amsterdam Bread Co, it was missing a soul.

Bizarrely expensive! €4,50 for a simple cheese croissant, and €21,75 for a breakfast (1 person)… Even the personal agreed with me it is well overpriced. Quality not exceptional either.

Grabbed breakfast here and wasn’t overly impressed. I order a drink and a egg and bacon baguette, and it’s questionable whether the egg was actually egg, and I am curious who took the bacon off the baguette.

The staff weren’t all that friendly, in fact, the lead was pretty rude and couldn’t be bothered one bit.

Disappointing place overall.
