I have nothing but good words to say about the embassy. The workers were very pleasant and helpful. Please go prepared with your correct documents if you want your experience to be smooth. I appreciate all they have done and I look forward to going back when there’s a need.

My daughter applied for her passport for the first time since she became an adult on August 20,2023. She went in person and paid $20.00 for it to be delivered to her. On September 21, 6 days after her 22nd birthday her passport came but was found on the step of the building by a neighbor. The envelope was ripped opened and passport was on the steps with the receipt. Her first and last name was on the front of the envelope but not an address. This is unaccacceptable.what if that neighbor didn't see it? What if it was rainin I still cannot believe it. Go and collect your passport. Do Not pay for delivery unless you live at a house!!

My experience with this embassy has been an horror story. First of all, they do not answer phone calls and rarely responds to your email. I had to wait for over 9 months just to receive my passport. Even after all the documents that were requested were brought into the embassy. Very poor customer service and even if you drive there, you still have to wait or the person may not even be there that you need to speak to. Today I will attempt to pick up my documents from this awful place and pray that in the next 10 years for renewal it will be a much better process.

Excellent customer service and receptionist was very helpful. Having a certifying official and a photographer there is like a burden lifted 🙏🏾

If I could give zero star, that's exactly what I would have given. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! If your passport is expired, travel to Jamaica on the expired passport and renew it when you get there. The tall, dark, middle age to elderly man that works at the front desk is a DISGRACE to Jamaica. He is VERY RUDE, condensing, disrespectful, and argumentative. I had to go in person to the office after calling there for 1 month straight to get on update on my passport. NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. When I went in person the phone was ringing off the hook while the front desk person was busy on his personal cell phone talking to someone, pointing out to them that he sent a text at XYZ time and they have been ignoring it. Anyways, after more than 2 months of waiting, I called PICA and they haven't received my passport application. No one could locate it. I called back DCs embassy and I was told they sent off my application. They couldn't provide a receipt or anything to confirm that it was indeed sent off. I later learned from PICA Customer reps that passport are not sent to Jamaican, just the application. So where is my passport and who have it? Investigation continues 07/24/2023

My husband apply for the renewal of his passport since June of 2022 and he still can not get back his passport or his documents that was submitted I have called sent emails and still no response this is the worst place ever.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. It doesn’t matter if you've followed instructions/procedures to the T with your applications, you will be left with the short end of the stick. My daughter applied for a travel document( which should take 7days when mailed in) for her upcoming trip weeks ahead and we still haven’t heard anything or received it.They hardly answer the phone and whenever you finally talk to someone they can’t provide you with any updates and keep transferring the call. No one seems to have a functioning brain that works there. One gentleman that answered told me that they receive hundreds of application each day so they can’t possibly update everyone. If they don’t want to deal with customers checking on the status of their applications, why don’t they implement a system online where we can check it ourselves? This would be so much better instead of dealing with their HORRIBLE customer service. They are so backward in my opinion. For those of you who are panicking about travelling on a expired passport, you absolutely can. I called jetblue and they said as long as you are returning to your home country, a expired passport is acceptable. Just check with the airline to be certain. I was just trying to ensure we had a backup plan if the airline said we couldn’t travel on it. But look where it got me. This place deserves zero stars.
