I find it absolutely impossible to have someone pick up the phone when I call. It does not matter what time of day I call. I had to go in to switch something for my appointment and was told to email if I can’t get through. I shouldn’t have to email or come in to the office. The receptionist didn’t even seem all that apologetic even when she said sorry. I felt like I was just wasting her time. Customer service is key no matter what profession you are in and answering phones is part of the job and should be done.
I know the medical field is strained etc but no one should have to try calling multiple times a day to see their doctor and not everyone is savvy in emailing to change something or make an appointment with their doctor.

If I could give zero or negative star, I will.
My experience in this clinic with Dr Sharlyn Khan is more like a scam.
Write it in a simple way:
I need a family doctor for my daughter and my wife.
I heard Dr Sharlyn Khan is available and taking new patients.
I went to the clinic and filled out paperwork. The front desk told me that there is a waiting list, and it will not be first come first serve. The doctor will make decision after an interview with me.
This is already a bit absurd. During the phone call interview, the doctor just asked some basic question like DOB, allergy history, and immunization, everything that already documented in previous paperwork.
Then the phone call ends, and I’m not getting the spot.
A week later, getting a call from the clinic claiming that I owe CAD175 “medical consulting fee“—— the interview.
I was shocked. I have never seen someone so shameless and it is from a registered clinic.
I have not been notified in advance in any forms, the front desk just told me that this is phone interview just for the doctor to see if she can get along with you and be your family doctor.
Another reason of receiving the call of bill is that my MSP won’t be available until next month, so they cannot collect money from my MSP.
Just imagine that they are charging 175CAD for everyone in the family doctor waitlist. This must be a new scam for this clinic to profit.
And please let me emphasize this again:
1. I was not informed in any form that this call is “consult”. The words “doctor wants to know if she can get along with you and decide if the doctor wants to pick you” are used in all previous communication.
2. It is always not informed in any form that this call will be charged.
3. I know that probably most of people that have been interviewed were charged thru their MSP.(there are a lot since they said waitlist is long). This is absolutely not a regular charge, such abuse of MSP should be reported to BC health department Integrity Use of MSP. Then the audit should be placed to make a judgement such if the charge of such “consult” is legal or not.
4. Being a clinic doesn’t mean that you can charge around with whatever ridiculous excuse you made up.

I used to really like this clinic but it has become impossible to see my family doctor. I can't get through when I phone and when I try to book online the appointments are weeks or even more than a month in the future. I've had to go to walk-in clinics for things I should be seeing my family doctor about.

I scheduled a clinic appointment, received confirmation, but 10 days prior to the scheduled date, they unexpectedly canceled without explanation or offering an alternative time.

I just got an appoitment with Dr. Ramiah. I'm talking about more then one issue. He tells me I only need to talk about one issue and book another appointement if I want to discuss of something else. I was in his office for 5 minutes. Very disapointing and unprofessionnal.

My family Doctor is here but something needs to be done to correct the fact you can't reach anyone and the online appointment never gives a confirmation of appointment made. Great Doctors but something needs to be done to correct contact with their office.

Calling the office is impossible. I've tried getting in touch over multiple days spanning over the course of a month, need to book an appointment with them because my specialist is there and no clue how to move forward at this point.
Once your in the office and your appointments are booked its an easy process with highly knowledgeable staff. Just very frustrated with the phone situation. At least give us an email to email or have a voicemail system, or both!
