Good spot. Good mix of accessible and interesting climbs - a bit on the easy side.

Music could be better and pricing is sub par.

I love the small independent vibe this gym gives. the staff are friendly, the walls are not very intimidating and seem to have a great range for how small the gym is. I feel welcome as a queer person 🏳️‍🌈

Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. I am a complete beginner to bouldering and my first session with a trainer led to ankle fracture.

After 5 months of still recovering from my injury I am writing this review to help anyone else looking to Boulder as a new be.

The trainer failed with 2 key things -

1. Didn’t give any pointers on how to land safely
2. Trainer was more or less standing right below me - leading to me having to jump off away from a safe landing spot

There are other issues which also caused the injury - the floor safety padding had a gap where my foot fell in leading to a bend and broken ankle.

In consideration to all of these I would not recommend this place to anyone new.

Great bouldering gym run by friendly and helpful staff who also happen to have great taste in music. New routes are set regularly so there's always something challenging to work on for climbers of all skill levels. Took a beginner's class here back in Jan and purchased a membership soon after as it became pretty addictive. Highly recommend!

Great place to learn if you’re nervous about bouldering in the real world. The staff are friendly and helpful, just hope your legs work with your brain when you’re up high!

My first attempt at bouldering was an experience that will most likely take me back, if I wasnt enrolled in a gym already 🤭

As a beginner climber I had tried out a few walls around Melbourne. Most of them I found very difficult and incredibly intimidating with the people there. At the boulder project I felt extremely welcomed instantly and comfortable. The two women working at reception, Julia and Sarah, are incredibly kind and helpful. Without even thinking they’ll suggest routes and give technique tips to help you out. It really feels like an inclusive space and not just hardcore fitness culture. Literally has become like our second home.

Great boulder gym. Smaller than others in Melbourne but very quiet on the weekends. They have several walls with color-graded routes and a spray wall where you can use the Stokt app. They also have a small gym with some weights but no campus ladder.
