Great spot just off the madness of King St south… ideal for a quiet break… excellent coffee, superb carefully prepared food, friendly quality service.

Took the family to breakfast here as its close by and new, good-sized portions for the price, would have preferred a long sausage rather than a square flat one, but the food was nice regardless. Service was good, was quiet when we arrived but got busier so that is good to see as a new cafe. Didn't try their Philippino food so will have to go back for that.

Really great selection of authentic Filipino food in Newtown! The service was friendly and the food came hot & fresh. We were surprised that they have regional Filipino food on their menu like Humba, and other favourites like Munggo, Pork Binagoongan and more that you don’t usually have readily available at Filipino restaurants in Sydney. And their sisig had no mayonnaise 👏🙌 As a half kapampangan/visayan this made my heart happy. Loved the food, especially the Filipino desserts. My recommendation would be to expand their weekend breakfast menu to include champorado and tsokolate batirol, which we know filos would travel to have 😍 I haven’t seen a Filipino restaurant in Sydney do this yet and I’m dying to for one (and I live in Blacktown city area which is pinoy capital). Decanso has something special going for it and we can’t wait to be back!

My sister and I ate here after an appointment she had. We got the Tapsilog, Longsilog and shared a Sisig.

Portions weren't too bad in relation to price.
Quality and flavours were great. The sisig could've used a little more crunch, but otherwise very tasty and couldn't really fault it.

I would definitely go back once they've reopened in Newtown.

Stumbled upon this wonderful cafe today and I’m so glad I came in!! The food was amazing, and the cafe is super cute and welcoming. They offer the usual cafe drinks/food options, but also include some delicious Filipino dishes (a relatively rare find for the area). I also had a wonderful chat with one of the owners at the end of my meal and it was exciting to hear about how their cafe came to be. I will definitely stop by again next time I’m in Sydney.

I came when their closing time since i craving for halo halo so badly. Then they still serving me so nicely. The halo2 is nice too. Will come back again to try the other food

First time in Sydney, missed eating Filipino food, found Descanso! The food and coffee was so amazingly delicious! Saraaapppppp/ Yummmmm!!! They have lots to choose with: not just that, the menus are applicable to all types of generations, from kids to grandmums and granddads; plus.... you will be accommodated by great staff!!! Highly recommended 👌👌👌

We ordered a variety of dishes and were amazed as they were all bursting with flavour. Staff were very friendly and helpful so if your looking for a new food cuisine give this place a go.

The Filipino dessert "Halo Halo" is a must try.
