You can tell that Marlboro County really cares about preserving it's history by the way they take such good care of there historical houses and historical buildings. They are kept in near perfect condition and the houses are very beautiful and the building's very interesting. There are 4 maybe 5 different places you can see if you come to see the Marlboro County Historical Museum and each is as interesting as the last. You have the Marlboro County Historical Museum of course, Jennings Brown House then you can see the Medical Museum and finally the Female Academy. There was one more but there was work being done on it so we couldn't go in at the time and I honestly don't remember what the name of the place is. Also there is your tour guide, that is if you want one, Ms. Lynn McQueen the Museum and Culture Affairs Director. You can tell Ms. McQueen loves her job, she's very upbeat and positive. She has researched almost everything pertaining to all 5 different places and she can answer almost any question that you might have. If you have a question that she can't quite answer then she is willing to find the answer for you. She is a pleasure of a person. She made our experience more enjoyable because she was our guide. On another note there are rumors that the Female Academy along with the Marlboro County Court House are haunted. With all the creepy stuff in the Medical Museum it's a wonder that it's not haunted too. I mean there is an Electronic Machine to administer electro shock therapy for nervous disorders from 1954, I'd only seen those in horror movies until now. There is also an Amputation Kit from earlier than 1868 so it wouldn't surprise me a bit if someone was hanging around wanting revenge for all the electro shock therapy that they were giving or for someone believing that there limb was wrongfully amputated. If you liked what I had to say please hit like and let me know. Thank you so much. Thank you
