The Oceanaire Seafood Room

I can not WAIT to go back to this place. I have the Shanghai style fried rice and it was to die for. All the ingredients were fresh and the service was amazing. Top notch. I also tried their lobster bisque and bread.

The entire experience was something special.

If you have a craving for a seafood in the DC area. This place is a one stop shop. So many options.

All of our seafood dishes were extremely well prepared. They also serve steak, but we stuck with seafood. The wine list and cocktail options were quite good. Leave room for dessert as they have an excellent dessert menu as well.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room truly delights seafood enthusiasts. The atmosphere exudes elegance, and their service sets a high standard. Their diverse seafood menu, featuring impeccably prepared dishes, is a testament to their commitment to quality. I can't recommend enough the shellfish mixed grill and the daily fish specials. Although it leans towards the upscale side, the dining experience justifies the expense, making it a perfect choice for special occasions or an indulgent seafood feast.

We had an amazing dining experience for our event. The event manager was phenomenal, room was well set-up and quiet from outside dining noise, food, desert, and drinks were fabulous, and the wait staff were the perfect balance of being supportive for the meal without interrupting the conversation or flow of the meeting. We are excited to have many more future events here!!

I want to say that not only was the food absolutely stellar but the staff was just as amazing. Paige, Doc and Ronnie, you made the experience for my kids and myself one that will truly be remembered by all. Thank you SO much. If you’re in town, go here. It is worth every penny you’ll spend to be taken care of and treated to one of the most amazing experiences you’ll ever have. Both culinary wise and the people themselves. Cannot say enough about this place! Fantastic!

I'm a self proclaimed chef who travels the country looking for new recipes to duplicate at home. I was only in DC for two days yet the Oceanaire was my favorite place to eat. I chose the Chesapeake Bay style crab cakes with grilled asparagus. They were cooked perfectly and the asparagus was as big in diameter as my thumb. The crab cakes used lump crab meat so it had big chunks and they did not crumble when cut with a fork. The mustard/mayonnaise dipping sauce was a perfect match for these. The asparagus was cooked to perfection inside yet retained it's crisp snap at the outer edge. The door says proper attire and this is an upscale place so I sat at the bar since I was only wearing jeans, sneakers and a polo shirt. Wayne was my server, he was polite and very informative. Next time I'm in DC, I'll be coming back here for dinner. If you have anyone you'd like to impress, this is the place to take them.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars. I love the Oceanaire! But this was not our best experience at one. Not bad at all but definitely, it was "pre valentine's day" mode and it was palpable in the service. Food - delicious, fresh, bright. So good! We had the crab soup (amazing), oreganata scallops (a bit too creamy), house cobb salad (basic, nothing special, but big portion), tuna tartar (my fave), calamari (big portion and delicious!!), and a raw oyster. Drinks are delicious too. Service - we had 3 or 4 waiters (I think most of them were being trained in preparation for vday weekend, which was the next day); nothing wrong with them but we felt like we were interupted every five minutes by each one checking on us. One waiter is enough, but too many meant too many checkins. I would definitely return for the food and ambience on a fancy night out, but I think I'll be more careful about the day and holidays I choose to eat around.

If I could give this place more stars, I would. The food was nothing short of excellent- top tier in every respect. It's pricey, but well worth it. The steak was a PERFECT medium rare all the way through. I've never seen one cooked that perfectly. The staff is also outstanding. They were very professional and fun too. I hope I'm not butchering the name spelling, but Giovanni and Miner (if I heard that right- my hearing isn't great) were awesome.
