Hotel Sentral Johor Bahru

Whole hotel looks very run down both from the inside and outside. In fact the walls look scary at night. Amenities only include shampoo and towel. Only suitable for people who do not mind a short one-night stay just to stay to sleep.

It's ok, clean enough. Swimming pool is bone dry. Don't jump in and break your bones. Location, it's a good 10 to 12 mins walk into heart of JB, not too bad. There are some hawker stalls when you turn left out of hotel, about 200m and to the right. Best try that. I won't bother with the other Indian Muslim stalls, not worth it.

I recently stayed at the hotel for one night(July 2023) in room 806 and had a mixed experience. While the room itself was spacious, clean, and offered an economical rate, there were a few significant drawbacks that affected my overall stay.
The most notable issue was the strong and persistent urine stench in the bathroom. It seemed to emanate from the drainage hole under the basin, making it an uncomfortable experience. Moreover, the situation was exacerbated by the fact that the vent fan above the bathroom false ceiling was not functional at all, leading to poor ventilation.
Another major problem was the air conditioner, which struggled to cool the room effectively. Operating at its maximum capacity, it produced loud fan noises that disrupted my wife and me during the night, making it difficult to sleep peacefully.
Additionally, the hotel's thin walls and plumbing system posed another disturbance. The loud noise from the neighboring occupants' shower water pipes was audible, causing me to be unexpectedly awakened.

On a positive note, the room's cleanliness and tidiness were commendable, and the included basic toiletries were a thoughtful touch.

In conclusion, despite the room's spaciousness and affordability, the negative aspects significantly impacted my stay. The hotel management should urgently address the bathroom odor and ventilation issues, as well as the air conditioning and noise problems, to enhance the overall guest experience. Until these issues are resolved, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel for future stays.

Seasoned hotel that still got public telephone booth in the lobby.. The hotel looks Old and not much function happen around.. just good for business stay with great value but otherwise the hotel just an old hotel with limited sheltered parking and the only things positive is that they serve welcome drinks

Had a last minute booking in this hotel. Not a nice experience to stay.

1. Bathroom got a urine stench. Body soap dispenser is faulty. Shower are sliding glass door was removed & make all the place wet. Insect wasp is all over the ceiling

2. Linen beddings has mouldy smell, pillow case has make make up & stains,

3. Receptionist was not friendly at all.

Two things acceptable in this hotel, the friendly staff and cleanliness. This hotel is so rundown, I didn’t bother to take photos of the room. Everything is old in the hotel, not old school cos old school can be really nice. It’s old. The fridge door is broken, curtains are worn out and old. Luckily the bed was okay, but they have a cushion that looked like the one my grandma used to have. The lift is very slow and has faulty lights. They have a large pot of fake flowers which is collecting dust. The restaurant downstairs only cater to breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, the food is sub par. Sigh, although it’s only one night stay, I feel bad for the hotel. The outside paint is stained and faded. I wished it was better maintained or at least upgrade it a bit. It’s not too far from the causeway to Singapore, and there’s a mall nearby.

Last min booked this hotel over the weekends for 2 nights because our usual hotels were fully booked.

We ended up checking out after the first night and forfeited the second night because the quality and cleanliness of this hotel is really terrible.

1. Pee on toilet not cleaned
2. Towel smells really bad
3. Stains on bed and pillows
4. Bed dent in, really uncomfortable
5. Aircon not cold
6. No toothbrush, no shampoo no soap
7. No tissue provided

We paid about $49 for a night but honestly should just top up $30-$40 more for a better hotel, you’ll be in a better peace of mind
