The food was incredibly delicious. They are in a great location, basically apart of the Rutgers campus, and are conveniently open very late into the night. The area was very lively and happening at midnight and 1 in the morning, so youre not alone at all.
Double check what you’re getting in the bag. I ordered a chicken over rice with white sauce and instead got lamb over rice drizzled with hot sauce everywhere, not even any white sauce to counter it. I called and asked if I could at least return it bc I legit could not eat that and they said we can’t on the phone and the lady proceeded to pretend not to hear me. It was great last sem, idk what they’re doing now.
I really hate to leave negative reviews, especially since the customer service was good for me, but it seems this place is very hit or miss. I got chicken shawarma and lamb, the chicken was inedible, the taste just very bad and it was soggy, the rice was bad as well. Everything was extremely oily. Only thing that was decent was the lamb. I’m not sure what that taste was but I ended up tossing the platter. Sorry.
So I ordered on Uber eats and asked not to put sauce on the platter but give it separately because the sauce makes it soggy if the orders get delivered late. They put the sauce on the platter plus give it on the side and the adjusted my order to charge more for the sauces. Like come on you are already charging more than an average price for a standard gyro why you can't give sauce on side.
For service I should give not even a star. Terrible experience. Inside is very dirty 🫣
I’m so disappointed ☹️ I ordered king platter with green sauce and chicken cofta platter with white sauce. But they put green sauce for both. I didn’t know the green sauce was spicy 🥵. I just tried and now I know just stick with white sauce the original gyro sauce. Ugg…. Otherwise it was ok for a meal.
My go-to gyro spot! Expect there to be large portion of well seasoned meats and rice. Ordering from King of Gyro since they opened and I’m glad to say their food has always been consistent and on time for delivery.
