A gorgeous, centuries old city center, nice restaurants and terraces, museums, art galleries, Amazing canals, parks, architecture.
Learn everything there is to know about Gouda cheese, stroopwafels, and the many other industries that made Gouda wealthy over the centuries. Built into the historic weigh-house, where cheese was weighed and taxed. An audio tour is available, which provides, if I'm honest, almost too much historical detail.
You can buy cheese in the gift shop downstairs, of course, and the staff will be more than happy to explain the different kinds to you and give you free samples. There is less variety than some of the other cheese shops in town, but I assume that the prices are about the same.

The museum was small but gave a lot of interesting information with the help of the audioguide, so I would say it's a great way to visit Gouda and learn about its history. The staff are very kind and helpful, and they sell cheese at reasonable prices!
This is a small but very informative museum. The ground floor houses the tourist information office and you can purchase cheese. The first and second floors are part of the museum which you pay for. It was reasonable value, more of a classic museum than the Gouda cheese experience. There is a very (almost too much!) informative audio guide you can use at your own pace. The cheese tasting includes three cheeses and was only €3 extra so was very good value.
Interesting cheese farm. Tried 3 small cubes of different cheeses, would have liked more.
Beautiful Old City with Architecture and Canals. A lot of very nice specialist shops and delicatessens.
Beautiful place to visit. Full of character and cheese!
