What an experience!! The submarine was super cool. Unfortunately the battleship was being painted and the fumes were too strong. We could not tour the inside of the battleship. The ship is massive and there was plenty to look at without even touring inside. Active military and veterans receive a discount. There is also a parking fee. I think it was $5.
This was an amazing stop! My family and I have been wanting to visit for several years and we were finally able to make the stop. It was incredible!
The day we were there, they had an SR-71/A-12 expo with pilots from the SR-71 talking about the A-12. We were able to see inside the cockpit and talk to the pilots. I’ve been really interested in these planes for about 30 years, so to visit with a pilot, and be that up close to the cockpit is a memory I won’t forget soon.
The battleship was so fun to see too. We’ve visited the USS Midway, and this tour isn’t as structured or have as many volunteers, but seeing how the ship works and the seaman operate is displayed very well.
Being able to climb in to the turrets and explore the bowels of the ship is interesting, fun, exciting, and memorable.
I HIGHLY recommend visiting!!!!

Loved visiting and enjoyed seeing the airplanes and Tanks outside. My 15 year old is a planes and Tanks kid from any war.
Husband wishes they had few more places for handicapped individuals to sit while walking around enjoying all the stuff though.
Great it was only $5 to park and see all the outside stuff too.

We stopped by here on our way back to Texas. The kids had a blast looking at all of the cool things here. They had a variety of retired military vehicles to look at. The entire family had a great time. I would definitely recommend stopping if you have time to spare.
What a wonderful time. Thank you to all who served on this beautiful ship. Thank you to the children who made it possible in 1964 to bring her home! Lots of ladders.
The ONLY negative was the gift shop closed an hour before the exhibit and it is the last thing you go through when you leave. They should stay open for a 1/2 after the exhibit closes.

Extremely fun place to take the whole family. I would plan on 2.5 hours for USS Alabama and another hour for USS Drum. Gift shop has some fun memorabilia so plan on spending a little bit of time there. The inside of the ship can get very warm in sections with less air conditioning. Definitely bring plenty of water and good walking boots! Very educational and informative.
The self guide tour paths are clearly marked out so you will not get lost. Highly recommend doing the outside (yellow) tour early in the morning while the temperature is still low.
There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The cafeteria at the memorial did not have any staff so I was not able to eat there.
Will definitely be back with more family member in the near future!

Lots of fun here! It's great that you have a self tour. You can view the vast size of the historic battle ship, submarine, and aircraft inside the building. It takes several hours if you want to view everything in detail. Rich history to learn indeed.
Really beautiful place. I could have spent all day there looking at everything! We used the outside kennels available for rent, so we tried to finish in an hour before it got too hot for our dog, but we loved that was offered! It's definitely worth visiting. We all loved it!
