Our first visit was excellent. We were welcomed at the front desk and seated at a lovely table by the window. Our server, Erica was attentive and friendly. The food is delicious. The building is beautiful, with features from 1743. Thank you for an incredible dining experience.

Gave this place 2 chances, first a nice dinner in the dining room was very good, very overpriced and did not impress. 2nd was burgers in the bar where it was lighter and nicer atmosphere but the burgers were both overcooked and dry and the buns were not fresh. The fries were excellent, the onion rings were very good and the service was okay (no refills, not table check but it was 'the bar'). Nothing will draw me back to this place which took me 20 years to try just to be disappointed and overcharged.

I have always enjoyed eating at the Clinton House when I came to NJ visiting my parents. It has been several years since I have eaten there but I took my husband, dad and nephew for dinner. First thing different is you have to pay for the bread. We waited an hour to get our food. All items were à la cart and if you wanted a vegetable or a potato, it was extra. This has not always been the way. I ordered the prime rib rare to medium rare and I received a well done piece that was dry and had no flavor. I did tell the young lady and I was not offered a new one but she did have it removed off my bill. My nephews beef Wellington dough on the inside was raw but he ate his anyway. It was just a huge letdown from the quality of the food that I have experienced in the past. I will not go back. Spending 200.00 on food that was mediocre isn’t for me.

We had the seafood tower for $57 and the oysters were not fresh at all. They smelled horrible and I am not sure why, but I decided to try one. It tasted rotten. We received 25% off the appetizer. Me and my family could be sick, and they only gave us 25% off! The waitress was attentive and great. The drinks were AMAZING! Which was the saving grace because the food was not good at all. Even our steaks were just okay. If you are going to price your food like an upscale food establishment, you better have the food and service to match. My family will not be going back to this restaurant. I would rather spend $200-$250 on a meal that I enjoyed.

Coming back from a business affair in New Jersey and stopped in to the Clinton House based on other Google reviews. The building itself is from the 1700's, There is a cool vibe when you walk in that takes you back in time. We were seated right away for lunch without a reservation. Being a Monday afternoon the restaurant was fairly quiet. Our server Gigi did a great job of taking care of us, the food was excellent and the prices were in-line with the quality of the food.
