An awesome hole in the wall foodie place. Good authentic Chinese food, definitely not Americanized Chinese food. So & so service, but you come here for the food. You know it is authentic & good when you see a lot of international students & foodies frequenting the place.

I got the Chicken and Mushroom clay pot rice and the Fried Rice with Diced Pork and Chinese Broccoli. This was definitely one of the better Cantonese style meals that I have been able to find in Madison. The claypot rice did not come in a clay pot so the bottom did not get as crispy of a bottom as I would hope for, but it was still delicious and a great to find in Madison.

Char-Siu and Chicken dishes are on par with some authentic Cantonese style restaurant you would find in a Chinatown somewhere, you know, the ones with the meat hanging in the window. Unfortunately I had to give this a low rating as the atmosphere was horrible. The dining area seemed like a storage area, and not just in corners, but on windowsills and even on the tables and chairs. There were also 2 high school aged kids sick coughing and sneezing, playing video games, and eating snacks sitting by the window. Turns out they worked there. If you are in the dining area sneezing and coughing, rubbing you nose, can you please first wash your hands before handling my food? Very unprofessional and unsanitary. Food sanitation 101!

Had rice served with meat and rice. I would say the Cantonese BBQ they offer is fine if you just want to crave the flavor. Not the best, but taste good and close enough to let you know it's Cantonese BBQ. I would definitely choose this over other Chinese Express in the area though.
Updates: the store accepts credit cards but there's a surcharge at around 4%

Amazing quality food for a totally reasonable price! A bit small in seating availability but a very friendly environment and close to UW campus as well. A lovely taste of Hong Kong cuisine.

I'd give this place a zero if I could.
My wife and I visited about a month ago and while it's your typical 'hole in the wall' restaurant, the service here is non-existent / some of the worst I've ever received.
When we arrived we actually had to step our head into the kitchen to get a menu despite having clear like of sight from the front door into said kitchen.
We made our order and then waited. And waited. And waited. We saw the same for delivery guy come and go 5 times with online orders while we sat and wait in the restaurant. We waited an hour and a half and then my order arrived. Just mine. Had we not already paid we would've left much earlier. 20 minutes after my meal arrived part of my wife's order arrived. I get that businesses get busy, especially in food service, but there was 0 communication and zero effort from the (presumed) owner / operators about why it was taking so long.
After almost two hours we finally had all of our food and left.
The food was OK but not something so special I would recommend going here or choosing over another Chinese restaurant. If ordering online I assume you have a better experience but as someone not from the area I cannot recommend this place at all.

Small Chinese restaurant, basically like a hole in the wall. Could easily have been transported from NY Chinatown or China. Limited seatings, more suited for quick student meals or takeaway. Dishes are pretty authentic esp the roast pork belly, crispy thin skin, I am in impressed like what you get in Malaysia. BBQ pork is not bad. Chow mien came out piping hot but very oily.
