Excellent zoo in Madrid where the animals are very well taken care of. You can interact with them a little on certain areas of the park. I found it to be really entertaining! You can easily spend 6 hours there! You can get in the pool with sea lions! We did it and it was a great experience! I suggest looking for discounted tickets online before paying full price. They are normally available. Parking is excellent and as soon as you arrive the ambient music is peaceful and welcoming. I highly recommend visiting it whether you are an adult or you have children.
Big park with many different areas, we and children like it, animals are in good conditions, comfortable zones and routes. Quite cheap parking with many parking slots (there are two ground levels, be aware).
Lots of animals, nice recreation of environments. Many pingüinos and birds. Only couple of batter flies visible. Bit smaller than Madrid zoo but still Worth visiting!
Wonderful animal exhibits! The Penguin experience is amazing and definitely worth doing- friendly and very knowledgeable staff eager to answer questions about the animals.

Faunia is a family zoo experience, without the larger animals you would typically find at the zoo.
For my visit there were 2 shows: seals and birds of prey, both were nice, but quite short, though there were 2 slots each.
Otherwise, there is a mix of outdoor and indoor enclosures to view, much appreciated in the late August heat!
For the outdoor animals, most were hiding in the shade (don't blame them...). For the indoor spaces, there was a 50/50 mix of whether they were visible.
I brought my own snacks, but there seemed to be plenty of places to stop and eat, though some were not open, I guess based on the number of visitors.
Definitely book in advance. A week ahead will get you tickets around 18euro instead of 25euro online on the day or 29euro at the gate.
Overall, I spent probably 5-6hrs, taking my time with photos and revisiting a couple of enclosures.

A really great day out for family visits. The routes have many indoor animal exhibits in case of rain, and lots of places to sit down and have a drink or snack. Restrooms are always within a short walk, which helps a lot with a toddler. They have a great area for bringing your own picnic with a huge play park for kids to run around and climb. There’s all kinds of animal interactions available for kids 5+, but smaller ones can enjoy the seals show. We had a really great time!
We went during the week in March and almost had the place to ourselves; there were maybe 3-4 families there in total.
One more thing: I don’t have a zoom lens,so the photos you see how they appear at eye level. The lemur was really sitting on the path and let us get close to him. (Hold onto small kids!)
