Washington Rock

A great place to basque in nature on the old closed off road, at the end (Washington Rock is what its called) you'll see amazing views of the surrounding area

Incredible view great walking and hiking trails and paved track

Fabulous park for a quick hike or stroll. You can walk up from near the library or park by the dog run (a bit over a mile each way). Sweeping views of Millburn and Maplewood, Manhattan and Staten Island.

Amazing place in South Mountain Reservation, you can exercise and enjoy with beautiful view.

A part of South Mountain we don't usually visit. Tons of parking, both paved and natural trails, a sculpture park and dog park, and many scenic spots with seeming views out to infinity (or at least the NYC skyline). Even though it is situated within mere minutes of civilization, you are sufficiently isolated as to not hear the sounds of any of the cars driving by on the many roadways visible from the scenic overlooks (though the sound of occasional planes overhead we're still audible). Benches abound to sit and rest along the paved Crest Trail. An oasis of tranquil natural peace nestled right in the heart of suburbia.

If you like a good view and walk then this is the place for you. You can get here by hiking up several trails from Millburn or you can walk on the service road leading up to the landmark. On the right day with the right weather it is work it.

Nice views, but most of it is blocked by trees, much better in the winter. Is a nice place to stop by if in the reservation. They also just had a gazebo and there's usually a porta potty, so a good place to rest.

Intermediate hike to a beautiful waterfall, pretty views and you can bike in the park as well.
