Microsoft has invaded my laptop with a hideous search engine that plops their ads in front of my information search and I think they are a perfect representation now of all the ugly in our country right now....no ethics or concern for their fellow humans.
Just tried to fix my HP laptop after having the SSD crash on me. I had had the laptop for less than 4 years.
My issues is that Windows 10, and 11 gives end users lots of robust tools to trouble shoot issues for your computer.
But, it seems like they don't work in the situation when someone would most need them.
Case in point... I was only able to boot my computer into safe mode. I thought I would try and boot the computer into safe mode with networking to hopefully download a copy of a Windows OS ISO and use my current product code for a new install into another drive.
First issue: My laptop doesn't have a cat5 jack to plug into an Internet appliance. It only has wifi and wifi doesn't work in safe mode.
Second issue: I try to clone the SSD image using the HP SSD manufacturer's cloning software and you have disabled the Shadow Volume Writing service in safe mode which is the main service most third party cloning software use to make an image of a drive with windows installed on it.
Third issue: Unless I do some web browser hacking it's difficult to get a Windows OS ISO onto my laptop in safe mode since I don't have Internet and cant use your media creation tool.
Fourth Issue: Windows's drive imaging tool doesn't work in safe mode.
Fifth Issue: It didn't seem like I could get your DISM command line tool to work either in Safe mode. (With command line operability)
It seems like your company offers these great tools to troubleshoot and fix our computers in the latest versions of Windows and yet at the same time you hamstring us from being able to use them in the situations when they would be most useful.
Are you trying to infuriate us? Please consider firing the people who are making these design decisions for your OS. They aren't serving you. They shouldn't be allowed to design and build technology products.
On a side note, I would support and encourage Microsoft not partner with computer brands that don't meet some minimum reliability standards. Based on computer brands repair rates HP and Dell are the worst.
Allowing to have factory installs of your OS on their machines just tarnishes your brand and if you are going to allow it, then you should at least make sure you don't hamstring your end-users in being able to use your OS troubleshooting and repair tools. If they are buying an HP or a Dell, they are going to need them.

Microsoft forcing users to create a Microsoft account and hello pin when using windows is the stupidest thing I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. I have less than no desire to use Microsoft when using my personal laptop and the fact that I am being forced to do so with the new update is absolutely unacceptable. Until this is no longer a requirement I will tell every person I meet how awful Microsoft is and to not support the company financially, or in any other facet.
Microsoft windows is horrible. My pc restarts randomly for no reason even after all settings have been adjusted to keep the pc on. Why? This is absurd and horrible. Bad company. Bad. Bad.
Went for a training seminar. The office space was clean, modern, and attractive. The host, Microsoft, required proof of vaccination, which wasn't clear, so I didn't have my card. It took a few hoops, to get through the process but got through it with some help.

Online store: I had Xbox ultimate on a monthly basis with no problem until 3/6. My card was charged and payment went through and they got their money. Tried playing some of the games on Xbox game pass and could not. Tried to get help, support chat just goes in circles or has you work with expert gamers. Finally got into a chat with a actual employee and was told canāt help due to technical issues. Over it at this point. Cancelled my subscription, keep the money, just donāt charge me again.
