This is a good park for walking and enjoying birds and ducks on the lake.
A spacious, wonderful park with various wildlife to interact with. These include ducks, swans and pūkeko birds. Seeing the cygnets (baby swans) up close was the lovely highlight of my visit There are meadows, lakes and also paths suitable for a jog around some nice scenery. However, some parts of the park are under renovation and access can be tricky due to the confusing directions and soggy landform after rainfalls. Also, the lack of public restrooms around the area can be an issue for family picnics or longer visits.
The new elevated walkway has really improved Western Springs as a place to visit - impressive views out over the city. The park itself has always been nice for watching the birds (particularly like the spoonbills!) Ground can get really muddy so wear appropriate footwear.
A peaceful place where you can enjoy the beauty of nature in the centre of Auckland city.
Great spot not too far out of Auckland CBD.

Absolutely gorgeous, spacious and huge park! Lots of space for a picnic, a game or exercise. Beautiful views of the lake.
One of the best parks in Auckland. Swans, ducks, geese, eels, bunnies, chickens.. the list goes on. A new playground has enhanced the family friendly vibe. Ample road side parking available. Highly recommended for a nice calm walk or a picnic.
