A must visit spot in Sydney. Went there on my last day to Sydney on my birthday and got a $1 entrance. Lots of animals, great vibes and fun experience. Can easily walk around and spend 4 hours here.

Be aware the zoo might be a bit larger than you think and the experience might get a little bit overwhelming.
...and there's A LOT of children. 😁

Apart from that, I got a very natural feeling here, tasteful enclosures, some animals even weren't asleep during my visit.

Nothing to think about, go there, enjoy, a must visit while in Sydney.

Such a shame the Sky safari is no longer available thought.

It is one of the best zoos I've been to around the world. The animal habitats are large and clean, and everything is incredibly well cared for. Arrive ~30 minutes before doors open to purchase an animal encounter, they go quickly. If they don't pass out numbers outside, or if you don't receive one, head to the gift shop when you enter to purchase.

I'll start by saying you need 4 to 5 hours to enjoy it all. It's BIG, so plan accordingly, take a break & stay hydrated. It's worth it.

Booking & entering were smooth, no issues. Scenery from the Sydney Harbour in the background was spectacular.

All in all good experience.

Visited Taronga Zoo on a weekday during school holidays and it was bustling!
Unfortunately, I missed out on the seal show as it was fully packed, and I couldn't find the bears (probably were sleeping somewhere out of sight).
A bit of construction was underway, but this was a minor inconvenience.

Beyond these, everything else was absolutely splendid! The animals appeared content and in excellent health. Also they have the most luxurious view I've ever seen - that iconic Sydney Harbour view! :D

It was not only entertaining but also very educating. Taronga is a great testament to how we can co-exist with nature in harmony.

The area is huge, I'll definitely go back to see and learn everything I've missed.
Must-visit for all nature lovers!

Pretty Zoo with views of Sydney harbour. Quick ferry ride is the best way to get there. Food awful and overpriced. We really enjoyed some parts of the the zoo and other parts not so much. I think the zoo needs to worry less about the view and create more privacy for the enclosure and better design for viewing. Tips, get there early, bring your own food and drink, have a plan to go to the keepers talks as they normally feed the animals and you will at least see them, very hilly so wear comfortable shoes.

More than a simple zoo. Elegant, well designed with color identification of the trails to follow. Varied fauna and flora integrated into very beautiful settings. It even has an area with marine animals typical of the area. Many activities for the little ones and numerous support services. Easy to access from central Sydney by bus or ferry. Highly recommended. One morning or one afternoon are needed, at least, for sure.
