Absolutely awesome. Take the guided trip into the mine. The trips are scheduled, so you need to call ahead.
Very good guided tour. Our tour guide was a retried miner and had a great wealth of personal stories.
This is a fascinating tour that takes you down into a coal mind under the ocean. The tour guides are actual retired Miners, some of whom have worked in this mine. So they pass on first hand knowledge of what it is to be a miner.
In season, It might be a good idea to buy your tickets in advance. I was there off season.

Fascinating subject, great tour, and the guide (Eric) was funny, genuine, and knowledgeable. Great tour!
My son loved this place & I was happy to share childhood memories of it with him. The museum was under construction so some was blocked off. My favorite part was the tour of the mine. Prepare to duck & bend over if you are taller than 4foot at the lowest point. Has a restaurant outside in the village but isn't open every day. Was closed when we went there sadly, so call ahead to see if it is open before you go.
Amazing experience. Great history. Our tour guide was amazing. An actual retired miner. Some stories that were told were heart breaking to hear. The reality of a coal miner. The tour was very well done. Tall people beware! Going down in the Mine is hard on your back. My children were really interested in the history of mining and being able to be down in a mine ( made for museum or not) was still an amazing experience all around. We popped in to find out what time the tour was going down. We had about an hour wait due to power failure but there was a lot to do in the meantime out in the buildings and out near the water on the cliff
The museum itself was rather small, the tour on the other hand was absolutely amazing. Going into the mine with retired miners, telling the stories they have, absolutely amazing. Would recommend.
