Built in 1876, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes is an architectural masterpiece and a religious gem designed by famed artist Napoléon Bourassa. A dazzling mix of Byzantine and Roman style, it was called "a labor of love" by its designer – and it shows. Located between the University of Quebec and the Latin Quarter, the church instantly cuts you off from the noise and traffic of the busy downtown and transports to a completely tranquil, unabashedly sentimental world filled with color and paint. Our Lady of Lourdes may not be the biggest monument in the city but is definitely one of the most charming; a good place if you want some quietness and rest after moving around for the whole day.

What a beautiful church! A stunning, quiet sanctuary. Sept 11, 2022, 2pm. Visited this church, and wanted to buy a medallion for a friend as a souvenir. Oh my! The man in the store just inside was too busy surfing the internet. He was rude, aggressive, and seemed put off that I would ask for help to purchase something. I sure hope this is not a reflection of what Christians are like. Totally turned off at having to even deal with someone like this. Perhaps his internet surfing was more interesting than having to volunteer at the church?

This is one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever visited. It was bery peaceful veing there and the workers there were so nice and explained us the history and important of this place. Its always nice to know the history and feel connected to our ancestors. The interior design was breathing. There ate beautiful paintings all over the ceiling.

A must see if you're visiting Montreal for the first time. They have a special event every evening with beautiful lighting and wonderful music. You can get the tickets online. Taking pictures and videos is not allowed during the event. But even after the event when the lights are on, the architecture is breathtaking.
