6km out back to the lookout, 2 hrs, steady climb. I heard from other hikers that there is a shortcut to the bottom of the stairs to the lookout, if you just follow the lookout road, but i did not try it. Easy hike overall, lookout is awesome, highly recommend,

Really nice spot for a hike but we missed the parking sign to the right after turning into the road and that’s where the trail starts

Beautiful hike through sugar maple and white birch forest on a clear blue sky mid -day in Pancake Bay provincial park. Lookout was stunning overlooking the bay to the south

Great hike. Steady uphill most of the way but not too strenuous. There are 164 stairs at the summit, but the view is amazing and very much worth it.

The trail is linear so in and out the same way. It’s around 6km. There’s a steep climb at the lookout, but it’s steps. Some of the steps are metal and our dog couldn’t do them so we carried her. She’s not too heavy. Nobody was around so we listened to the Gordon Lightfoot song at the lookout.

A great trail in Pancake Bay Provincial Park. It’s 2-hour round trip to the lookout - there are actual stairs up to the top. Some challenging inclines that might be slippery after rainfall, but overall well-marked and straightforward.

Scenic trail off of Highway 17 north close to Pancake Bay Provincial Park. Trail was much longer than we expected it to be, we brought our 2 and 3 year old children and this was a mistake as it was too much for them. Overall though it was a moderate difficulty trail for adults. The last half before getting to the stairs was fairly uphill but that was only the last 10 minutes including the stairs. If u have kids I would say hike to the cave then turn around. View from the top is excellent. May return in the fall when the kids are in school
