Tried to book tickets but American tour groups snap up all the tickets. Only tickets available were two months away! Museum should stop doing online only tickets as it prevents weekend visitors from getting in.

It’s little and difficult to see. But it’s a great thing and interesting because it’s a part of the history

While I was in Amsterdam, I tried to get to visit the Anne Frank museum/house, but there was no available tickets :( But was happy to have seen this beautiful monument to Anne. And a quick shot of the infamous door.

At some stage, I will go back and actually book the tickets in advance! Worth a visit, the monument and the house.

The Anne Frank Monument, situated next to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, is a poignant and timeless tribute to the enduring legacy of Anne Frank and the millions who suffered during the Holocaust. This iconic monument serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance and the ongoing fight for tolerance and human rights.

The Anne Frank Monument stands as a solemn sculpture, created by Dutch artist Piet Griepink, and represents a bookcase with Anne Frank's profile carved into the front. The monument symbolizes the hidden and silenced voices of those who were forced into hiding during the Nazi occupation of Amsterdam. It serves as a testament to the resilience and courage displayed by Anne Frank and countless others who sought refuge during one of humanity's darkest periods.

The simplicity of the monument's design adds to its emotional impact. The starkness and solidity of the sculpture evoke a sense of somber reflection, inviting visitors to pause and contemplate the profound significance of Anne Frank's story and the tragic events of the Holocaust.

Adjacent to the Anne Frank House, the monument holds a significant place in Amsterdam's historical landscape. Its proximity to the house and museum further deepens the experience for visitors, creating a powerful connection between the tangible history within the museum and the symbolic representation outside.

On my first visit of the house, I did not find this monument. It is simple & small so you might overlook it. Then I checked the web where exactly it is. Came back & got my picture with this lovely little historical statue.

Great visiting the monument, there were cute flower shops and food shops around the area giving out free samples.

The Anne Frank monument is a statue that serves as a symbol for the famous story of Anne Frank. The small humble statue is located close to the Homomonument and the Marketplace near Wester Kerk. A moving statue that makes you think.
