main central station of Munich where you can have many connections of subway and out there tram services. Toilet facility, many shops inside the station. Staff is very helpful and kind.
Haupt bahnof(Central station) has very good connectivity. Information staff is very helpful in case you are new to the city. This also has good shopping options.
I was using railways in around 20 countries until now, but here in Munchen is the worst of the worst.
60% of the time the S-banh did not arrived on time, was jumping stations, or going not the entire route.
The worst part you find this out only when you ar in the train station like 5 minutes before. In other countries you can seee online bofore getting to the station at least.
Germany S-Banh on my experience is the worst at a point that really can not be used, since you have 60% chance that is not working. In other countries is much slower but you can plan accordingly, here in Germany is impossible.

When I first saw the munich main station some 16 years ago I was impressed but over the years it lost its charm. Thankfully as of my last transit it was being renovated. Otherwise its a main hub for the subway , regional and international trains. You have shops and restaurants in the station. One major plus is the Edeka that is open everyday till 22.00 that's awesome
We came by the Munich Hauptbahnhof (HBF) a few times during our stay in Munich. It was where we arrived and left the city as well as a couple of day trips to other cities.
The building itself is quite large with lots of platforms. Check the info board to get the right platform to board the right train. There were electronic ticketing machines close to the platforms but there were also ticketing areas with people further in.
There are quite a few food places scattered around, even an area dedicated to it. It was the few places in the station which was sealed off, otherwise, the station is essentially outdoors.
The station was fairly easy to navigate and they did have free wifi but it didn't reach most of the platforms.

I was so hungry and had to find a way to get to the hotel after landing at the International airport of Munich. The different kind of fare was very complicated for a newbies like us. Anyway we settled for some food here before finding the ways to the pre-booked hotel at the Olympic Park.
