Excellent experience. We went there very early so basically we were the first one to enter the temple. Later we went up to the temple with a group and guide. Good to go early in order to avoid the crowd.

The park is part of the borobudur compound and is very well maintained. It's amazing walking in the lawn and admiring the temple. However it's better to go early in the morning to avoid crowds and carry an umbrella as it gets extremely sunny and hot.
