Definitely a must see in Istanbul! Entrance is free. Waiting lines are long, but waiting time is ok.

There is something quite grand about the square which makes walking through it an experience. There are lots of little distractions such as the obelisks and the German Fountain and the main fountain just before you reach Haya Sofia; simit sellers and corn on the cob sellers add extra flavours to your walk. Above all, it's a nice place to sit and take in the two main attractions within the square: Haya Sofia and the Blue Mosque (also known as the Sultanahmet Mosque). You can browse by some of the shops and cafes if you like and at night the whole area is transformed as everything is lit up. Amazing place.

This historical building is one of the most beautiful buildings built during the glory of the Ottoman Empire, which has preserved its splendor and beauty with dignity throughout history, and is an example of care and attention to historical buildings in Türkiye. Visiting this beautiful place and its surroundings is recommended to all those who travel to the beautiful city of Istanbul.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Sultanahmet Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque. Situated just across from the Hagia Sophia Mosque, its location couldn't be more iconic. What truly impressed me was the ease of entry; we didn't have to endure long queues to step into the courtyard. This made our visit even more enjoyable, and we could fully appreciate the architectural beauty of this historic site.

Loads of history surrounding this square plus the hustle and bustle of life going on, it is a must see place in Istanbul.

Close to the popular mosques and also walking distance from the Underground Cistern and Grand Bazaar.

You could spend quite a bit of time in the area. Plus there are loads of cafes and restaurants if you need something to eat or drink as they are close by too.

It is beautiful and spacious. You're surrounded in brilliant history, beautiful culture and architecture. Highly recommend. I was there early in the day. There were no crowds and it was fantastic.

I visited this place once and I thought it was beautiful. I don’t know how it is during week but on the weekend this square is very crowded. It’s a nice place to sit down for a few minutes and just enjoy the view and being in nature.
