Not a bad place to catch a few drinks after work if you want to avoid the Barangaroo vibe. Reasonable price for lunches too.

Solid pub, delicious pie of the day. Can get pretty busy.

Very good food choices at The Sussex Hotel in Sydney CBD, close to Wynyard Train Station.
Pub food downstairs and excellent Thai food upstairs and a rooftop bar.
I ear often here, great burgers, schinttys and the Thai food is authentic Thai. Yummy

On a chilly day, there's nothing more comforting than sinking my teeth into a warm and delicious lamb pie from the Sussex Hotel. The flaky crust, tender meat, and rich flavors create a cozy culinary experience that instantly warms my soul. Pure bliss in every bite! First time here and I really enjoyed.

Tried their fish and chips. It was quite fresh and tasty but quantity wise not very generous. Lots of items to try if you're just there for a few drinks with friends or colleagues.
Just a note to halal consumers.. the meat isn't halal.

Good fish and chips. With a soft drink the bill came to $31. Here for team lunch so it's ok.

The Sussex Hotel is popular with the office crowds. Grab some pub grub from the ground floor and sit in the beer garden or head upstairs for some Thai food ina freshened up dining room.

The pub food is standard stuff, not amazing but also not terrible. My steak sandwich was satisfying despite being past medium-rare and I appreciated them swapping the fries for salad. Food took awhile to come out as the place was full.

The Thai food was also decent for this part of town. Would've liked a bit more chilli heat and less sweetness in the chicken basil but I'd still return to try other dishes. The stirfrys and curries include a small bowl of rice.
