This is not a history museum, there are no artifacts here. It is actually a wax museum depicting the old shanghai and its glory of the old days. A fashionable and forward city even in 1920s. Worth a look if u have the time. This wax museum is not a building by its own. It is INSIDE the DONG FANG MING CHU tower at the basement. Entrance is free as part of the tower tix and tour.

I am quite impressed with the museum size. I thought it would be a quick overview of the Shanghai but it has some interesting insights of the city in the past, present and future. Maybe more English descriptions for non-Chinese speakers

Its an interesting museum. It has life-size replicas of old Shanghai people, streets and shops. It's under the pearl building (the one with the purple spheres). Buy your tickets at the central area where they also sell tickets to all of the other attractions then bring it to the museum.

Excellent museum showing how the Bund and surrounding areas of Shanghai has changed and developed over the years from pre to post colonial times. Lots to see and read. You can easily spend over 90 minutes here. Worth purchasing a ticket to the pearl tower with museum entry included.

It was really nice experience to look at history of Shanghai and influence of English people on its culture .
You can see English courts, architecture and daily life of Shanghai during this period dominated by English people.
