Clean, tidy, and resourceful. It felt like flying thru a time machine. I could imagine myself as STOVIA student

You will know the story about STOVIA and history about rise of the Indonesian people against the colonialists. Typically old museum (non AC museum). Ticket price only 2k and no need to reserv before visit.

actually I kind of confused on what kind of museum was this place suppose to be. so they have art exhibition section and history section on this place. the art section it self is actually not a historical art but for sure it might worth your time if you ever go here to check it out. the history section here are very detailed and they give you some kind of diorama at some room to show you how they used to do their activity here in the past. the momment you arrive here I recommend you to go to audiovisual room to check on the brief history of the building, after that you're free to roam inside the building and check on the room with opened door. sometimes there are young guid that tried to explain the place. overall experience I think this place is worth for visit even if you just want to take selfie picture. but make sure to follow the rule of the museum.

Originally this building of the museum was constructed from 1899 to 1901. In March 1902, the building was officially opened under the name of STOVIA, the colonial medicine school for the Javanese and other native people. Students were obliged to live in the dorm until the completion of the 10 years study. Due to the building relation with the birth of Budi Utomo on May 20, 1908, whose day are officially Day of National Awakening since 1948, the building was restored by the government of Jakarta on April 1973. The building was officially made a heritage building by then President Suharto on May 20, 1974 under the name of Gedung Kebangkitan Nasional ("The Building of National Awakening"). We can learn about Indonesia History about Where people try to rise against unfairness in colonial times.
