Very, very small venue which honestly makes it even better. Easy to get to the front row if you wanted to and the circle pits can take up half the space.

Before going, I highly recommend considering a rideshare or getting dropped off because of the amount of homeless encampment there are however ive seen people park near the venue and they appear to be fine going back to their cars. I was fortunate that my friends band van didn't get anything taken. This is my second time at this venue. I initially saw Deathpact here last year, and it was packed! The layout is simple, you have two to 3 accessible long bars along the sides and rear. A place for merch on the side. There are gender neutral bathrooms and a shared long sink located next to the main bar behind the sound/lighting booth. To the side of the stage, they have an elevated ledge with pillars and fence for a different view. On that same side, there will be an exit for the smoking pit. It's pretty spacious along with some cool art by Dr. Knudson to look at. This year, I came out to support my friend's band, He Films The Clouds. I was there to shoot some footage and babysit the merch booth every now and then. It was mainly a hardcore metalcore show for the band Ithaca. The sound is great. There was lots of room to dance that day. I even did a cartwheel kick combo for the bands 5 times. It was great! I like the venue, sound, and layout. It's really easy to navigate. They do have overpriced drinks, and the second time being there, they only had chips even though they have a menu for food listed. They didn't have food again, so eat ahead of time. When I went, they only had drink tickets for the headliner only. The backstage area is small, and there is a makeshift gazebo for the outside patio area for the equipment, one oscillating fan, and some chairs. It was big enough to suffice for all the bands playing, but that fan inside the gazebo wasn't doing anyone any favors. I hope this helps and gives you an idea of 1720. A lot of great artists have come through to play. it's definitely something to visit at least once if you're in the area.

The venue is usual and standard. The crowd seemed to be on drugs because numerous fights and people pushing happened throughout the night. They don't hand out water to the crowd unlike other venues. Bathrooms were comically crowded after the show. Not a horrible venue but not great either.

The venue itself was great. Love the setup with the stage, the bar, and the space to stand. I do have to say, though, the audio was terrible the entire time. For the first band, the guitar was completely inaudible. The second band sounded okay, though the vocals were too loud. The headliner, all over the place. It's like they turned the guitars and vocals to 12, then forgot about everything else. At some point, the band played a softer track with just guitar and flute, and they had the guitar so loud, you couldn't hear the flute at all. Bad live audio mixing dampened an otherwise stellar performance, which is disappointing.
It was so loud, I kept shoving my earplugs in more, and even still walked away partially deaf.

They had a cool LED display thing, though.

The actual venue itself is pretty nice. The sound is good and is spacious. Friendly staff. The drinks are ridiculously small and expensive though.

The surrounding area is really sketchy and unsafe. It's pretty much skid row. Unstable homeless people all around, broken glass everywhere, cars get broken into (park at your own risk). There are usually parking along the streets except when a popular show happens, but again, sketchy neighborhood.

Would not recommend going there alone and especially women, please go with a friend or a group.

This place is great! We went for a 70's disco party with DJ Jazzy Jeff and had an amazing time. I read review prior to going and was worried about parking so we opted to take a Lyft. The area is hella sketchy lol And I think the security could tell we were a bit unimpressed while we were outside. He assured us that we were gonna have a really good time and he was so right. The inside is more like a small warehouse type space, with 2 bar areas, very clean bathrooms (toilets- which is very important lol). But, we had the BEST time! I will definitely be back!

Clean and spacious venue, clean bathrooms (major plus!!), nice decor, modern equipment, fully stocked bar… really great venue!! :) Pix are from If I Die First and Alice Glass show in 2021.

PS: only downside is location and parking. It’s in a sketchy, industrial area with homeless ppl/camps nearby. No dedicated parking lot or much street parking nearby. I highly suggest ubering there!
