Parking can be challenging- I would recommend parking in a nearby parking garage. Be prepared to walk. Great market with many produce and other options.

Good Saturday morning experience if not the best. Fresh veg, cheese, fruits, maple syrups, handicrafts, bakery, farm produce.....were the highlights. Not a great place to buy the farm produce as the prices are the same or higher in some of the cases, compared to grocery or supermarkets. Empanadas were certainly exorbitantly priced (10), misleading to find no filling that it showed on the tag. Beggars should have been kept out making benches available for visitors. An average experience compared to the similar farmers markets in Europe.
It is a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. So many options by local farmers and artisans. The Capitol makes a beautiful background for your stroll around the market.

I absolutely love the Farmer’s Market. A great source of local produce, meats, dairy and small business exposure. Affordable and a great thing to do on a Saturday morning.
5 stars! The Dane County Farmers Market is a great place to find fresh, local produce, meats, and other products. The market is held every Saturday, and there are over 150 vendors.
The produce is always fresh and delicious. The prices have gone up so I don't do my regular shipping here, but from time to time it's a nice treat. The vendors are all local farmers and producers, so you know you're supporting your community.

The perfectly ripe cantaloupe I found today. It was so sweet and juicy, and I can't wait to serve it with local feta.

Such a great farmers market on the Wisconsin Capital Square! Great food, produce, flowers, art, gifts, baked goods, meat and much more. Great location, beautiful and worth the drive. Parking is not to bad and the culture of Madison is wonderful. I highly reccomend and will be back!
The Dane County Farmers' Market is something we always try to visit when we are in the Madison area. It's a great way to see and sample food and other products from so many area producers. The walk around the capitol building is enjoyable also.
