The lines were long for the special exhibits so I started on the 5th floor and worked my way down. Great curation and some artists that were new to me. It’s a great afternoon.

First time attending First Saturday at the Brooklyn Museum and it was lit! Music, like 2 live bands and a DJ! Food. Drinks. Merchandise. Good looking crowd. And I even got to see some art! Great night!

Absolutely marvelous museum and a great place to go if you're visiting NYC and want to get out of Manhattan for an afternoon! While not as large as some of the bigger museums in the city this place still can take a few hours to properly go through! The building is absolutely beautiful and the exhibits are all very well designed with detailed descriptions of each piece when possible. Highly recommend getting the combo museum & garden pass which gets you into the botanical gardens next door!

Such a beautiful environment. I enjoy this place every time I visit. It is modern, classy and huge. Floating around all day is a joy. I attended The Dior exhibit and it was the best! These are more recent photos from an exhibit regarding Black artist.

The best thing about visiting this museum is witnessing the effort the team puts into each exhibit.

Information on how the museum came into possession of the art and stories on the artists are so well executed here.

There’s also a large collection of African art here and also many recent works from local artist which is great to see.

For those looking for classics there’s that too.

Overall, it was an amazing experience, especially since admission was "pay as you wish" (except for special exhibitions).

The museum's extensive collection spans many different eras and cultures, from ancient Egypt to contemporary art. The building itself is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of room to explore and take in the exhibits. The exhibits feature current events, artifacts, and incredible works of art from all over the world. Visitors can expect a lot of walking, but it's worth it to see the art everywhere, from the entrance to even in the parking lot. It was an absolutely fantastic and informative experience.

I highly recommend visiting the Brooklyn Museum. It's a true gem in the heart of Brooklyn and a wonderful way to spend a day exploring art and culture.

ON THE MUSEUM’S FIFTH FLOOR, just off yet more solemnly sober portraits of wealthy colonialists, is one of America’s oddest museum features: a heavy sampling of the Brooklyn Museum’s hidden collections and artifacts. It’s some of the stuff that cannot fit on the institution’s walls and display cases, and includes formal art, as well as more mundane objects such as a dozen old-school alarm and wall clocks. The items are professionally lit and arranged but are stacked high to evoke the cramped feelings of a rich uncle’s attic or a warehouse on Indiana Jones’ to-do list. The curators had fun with this space, and it shows!
