This place is now one of my favorite loval spots. Their food has so much flavor I’m literally having a mouthgasm with every bite :) It is truly authentic Mexican food. And they don’t skimp on ingredients. Their burritos are gigantic and always super stuffed. They’re also super fast and efficient. Never a wait and no mistakes on any orders I placed with them. I never ate in, I always take it to go. I recommend picking up and eating it right away for best experience. Carbon never disappoints 👌👌👌

It's a small place with a few tables and some counter seating. You order at the counter, then they bring your food on a tray, and you dump the tray yourself. The fish taco was almost good, but whatever dressing they used was way too sweet, and the fish was under seasoned. At first, I was put off by the large chunks of steak in the steak taco, but they were tender and well seasoned, so it was pretty good. It only had a slightly grilled flavor, not like I thought it would. But the salsa verde was perfect for that taco.

The things you find under expressways aren’t always bad. Like Carbón Live Fire Mexican Grill for example. There they are serving up some of Chicago’s best Mexican food. On my visit I tried the Stelote which combines two of my favorite things, tender steak and elotes. All wrapped up in a flour tortilla served with onions, cilantro and crema. Had to try a barbacoa taco as well. Didn’t enjoy it as much as the burrito but still good. Washed it all down with a bottle of Coke from Mexico. Who has two thumbs and was very satisfied? This guy!

Pretty good, I think what I got was called fish of William, chicken taco for my child, and chips and salsa. It was very delicious, and portion size was generous. It was more than what I could finish. I do want to say that there was a mild sweet taste to it. This did not bother me, I thought it complimented the dish, but I could see someone else being put off by it. The chips and salsa were also very good. Service was exceptional, they were kind, quick, and prompt. Seating was very small. We came in with four people and had to sit at the bar. Overall very happy for my first dining experience in Chicago.

Great meats….the steak is great. I usually get the mother clucker burrito. This is a grilled chicken burrito with a tequila lime sauce. Parking is easy for a city restaurant. It is a little pricey, but the quality of the meats makes it worth it.
