On a busy weekend summer afternoon I wouldn't waste time trying to board a ferry go towards Wall St/Pier 11 (Manhattan). The ferries are packed and an insufficient number of people get off so there isn't enough space for passengers to get on. I waited for three boats to have space before I called it quits. Getting off here or boarding a ferry going up river is fine.

Very good way to go from Brooklyn to wall street no traffic at all. It's always quiet on the ferry. And for a bones you get to watch a beautiful panoramic view from Brooklyn and then from Manhattan the way is differently quicker than a car.
Also they have a nice small grocery on the ferry where you can get some food and drinks

Vibes are off the charts. If you haven’t taken the ferry you’re missing out. I’ve been using it for my daily commute to Lenox Hill from S Williamsburg and it’s been fantastic. Makes the subway look like Gotham in Batman Begins (Christian Bale is the real Batman obv)

As a visitor to NYC the ER running out of South Williamsburg is one of my favourite things! Super friendly staff, such an easy and relaxed way to get into manhatten with great views along the way!

Had to wait 75 minutes under a terrible sun. No shade no cover. Three ferries came with no space to accept enough passengers. Schedules published unreliable. An awful experience.

Ferry was fantastic. Friendly and much quicker form of travel if staying on the river.

You can catch a ferry to the Manhattan side from here.
