Amazing original cocktails. The karaoke is awesome with some amazing vocalist. Very small stage and usually pretty busy so be sure to show up early.

This IS the place to enjoy great food, karaoke and awesome people. Could go here every night.

Some friends and I came back after a few months of going elsewhere for karaoke. It was nice to be back and see a few new drinks on the menu and a positive atmosphere from the staff (mostly). I say mostly because the waitress (didn’t catch a name, dark shoulder length hair) was extremely aggressive, it made my whole group very uncomfortable. She mentioned for us to open a new tab with her multiple times - so she could get the tip, I assume. None of us wanted to put down another card (we had one open with the bartender) and when she suggested us closing our first tab to order through her since we weren’t sitting at the bar, it made us close out and just leave altogether to avoid being further harassed. I assumed ordering through the bartender (having classic bartender banter, asking cocktail questions, ordering on our own time, etc) then taking a seat was allowed - but apparently not anymore. Boy has Hula Hula changed! We almost felt bad leaving until we saw her curse out another employee as we left.

We stopped coming to Hula Hula for a while but were excited to come back. But after this interaction (more like interrogation), we are sticking with other karaoke bars in the area. I guess come here if it’s fun for you to be harassed and made uncomfortable by the staff, but we will not be back on a Sunday.

PS for those who do go despite the warning - the karaoke selection is subpar and the karaoke guy can be a bit rude.

I don’t usually do reviews, especially naming specific employees, but this experience was awful. I came in on a busy Saturday night, so I wasn’t expecting the best service but god was this bad. Our waitress, Hannah (only using names because the other waitress who seated us was very welcoming but didn’t get her name), was so rude to us. As we were in line to order, she told us that the area we were sitting meant she had to serve us - which is a new (and stupid!!) rule here since last time I was here.
She treated us like we were in her way while also expecting us to tip well - she had the gall to remind us what 20% was at the end of some of the worst service I’ve ever received. She kept trying to get us to get more expensive liquor when we stated more than once that we were fine with well drinks. Offering higher shelf is one thing but this was uncomfortable and she was so rude when we didn’t comply, we felt almost bullied. She then rolled her eyes and ran off to the next table.
She checked in just one other time and when we didn’t order quick enough she walked away from us and said “I’ll be back.” She never came back until we had to go to the bar to ask for our check about 20 minutes later. My friend and I both saw her yell at the other waitress (the one who was actually nice!) as well.
We were ready to stay and spend a lot of money here, but we went to the Crescent instead. The tastiness of the drinks here didn’t even matter after this low level service. As we left, the people at the table next to us were leaving too and experienced the same issue. So my only positive was that we made new bar friends over the shared terrible experience. Save yourself time and energy and just wait in the bar line or be sure to get a different waitress.

If you love karaoke, then this is your spot! The crowd is super supportive. The service and food were good. Visited this place on a Thursday, so I can only imagine what the crowd is like on the weekend.

This bar is AWESOME! The karaoke was amazing all night, food and drinks were great, and all the people were having so much fun! Will definitely come back if I'm ever in Seattle again!

It’s a great place to hold a party and enjoy KTV at the same time. The sound system ain’t that fantastic and the place looks a little too run down for my liking. The drinks served are good and strong. Food choices are limited. As for the neighbourhood, I recommend you take an Uber to get around.
