A beautiful and well-kept city park for sure!! There was no litter at all. I only saw a few birds today, but I’m guessing there wasn’t much because of the cold front coming to town. Very spacious area and beautiful trails

My god I love this place. HUGE. When you walk over an into the forest there’s a trail to the left middle and right. It is so big that after finishing one day I went back another day and saw areas I didn’t see the first time. - was able to see 2 bunnies, a red cardinal, and lord of butterflies. My dog loved the trail.
My only complaint is there’s no trash cans. But at the very entrance so if you have a poop bag or bottle of water you finished you must hold it the whole entire walk. To refrain from littering. I did see a few poop bags littered. It upset me because I wouldn’t want to be penalized for them as far as dogs being welcomed. So I def think atleast one trash can in the middle could totally help.

Best kept secret in New Orleans; great place to have a quiet walk with your dog.

I want to change this to a one star review to impact the algorithm and keep this city gem on the dl. But I can't. The best u can do is report all the bad reviews as "helpful. "

Perhaps because it took me almost a decade to find this area of city park, purely by circumstance, or because walking in forests, hills and mountains is what I miss most from our old hometown, but I'm now frequenting here almost daily. It's become a new addiction. My dogs love it here and with the recent heatwave, it's been our saving grace. It is out of direct sun and usually 10-15 degrees cooler under the canopy.

The people you may pass on the path here appear to be of good humor and there's plenty of parking. The vibe is relaxing and unhurried. Yes, it's disappointing it's so small, especially in comparison with other areas in City Park. However the abundance of trails meandering through can make it as long or short as you like. I recommend highly.

Walk across the bridge at the free parking for a hike amongst many different species of trees. I liked looking at different bark and walking along the water edge to watch birds. There are some signs with informative nature and history lessons. Mostly, the area is not crowded and has picnic tables for a quiet lunch.

Overall, pretty disappointed over this side of the city park. It's not easy to access with public transportantion, unlike the south end. The trees are OK; I guess that if you haven't to nature for a long time, then this may be refreashing. Did not see as many wildlife as the south side of the city park. There was a soccer game nearby; the music was so lound and it's making the experience worse. There were also people on boat in river. Overall, if you have recently see other forest, I would suggest to skip it. not worth the trouble.
