Osteria Mamma Rosa

I don’t live in Italy but I have tried at least 50 restaurants in Milan and I am generally quite picky. Osteria Mamma Rosa is one of the very few restaurants where I keep coming back. For years, service, quality and taste have not moved in any direction but only upwards. Elegant and very pleasant atmosphere, situated on two floors, always busy but not loud! You should try - sea, meat, vegetarian, all outstanding!

Priced quite high and looks like a tourist place

Definitely one of top quality restaurants in Milan. Therefore its price could be not that friendly but the service and food worth it. Our server Alam was a great and his attentive service made us comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you again.

We highly recommend this restaurant! We order the scallop, grill shrimp and steak! Love all specially the steak! The tiramisu and pistachio mousse was really smooth and creamy. And the services was attentive!

We ordered 1 homemade pasta with white truffle on top of it. It was amazing. The pasta is just perfectly cooked. The truffle is also very good smell and tasty. We also ordered the steak. It’s perfectly cooked on medium rare.

Delicious!!! Mussels were recommended for the day, and it was only 15 euro for a massive pot of nicely cooked mussels in a tasty broth. Actually 3x the size that you would get in the states for the same price and more tasty too. Seafood risotto was also delicious as well as the steak, which was cooked perfectly to medium, and had a nice light minty sauce.

They recommended us to get a red wine for the meal and asked for our budget and tastes, and we just said we wanted to try a glass for each of us. They provided the perfect red, which was the Primitivo Paolo Leo - the best I have tasted in recent memory

At the start, we were given a free small glass of prosecco each along with a small bowl of bruschetta, which had the most refreshing tomato sauce that was very light and pleasant. The breads and olive oil were yummy too.

At the end, they also gave some desserts, which was very nice.

The portions are quite substantial and all very good. Service was excellent. Very happy!

One of the Top class restaurant in Milan, location is quite central close to porta Venezia. We were lucky to get an reservation today although we called in just 30 min before. We just ordered one main dish and the desert to have a light dinner and food was simply amazing. Need to visit again for a full coarse meal. But be prepared as the place can be quite expensive but the quality is definitely amazing.
