A beautiful space to pay homage to the gods. The craftsmanship that created the temple is a lost art. Shoes are left outside the temple and feet washed before you enter. No entrance fee is charged. It’s dark and cool inside with no photography allowed. Your eye quickly adjust to the dark interior. We spent around 20 minutes wondering round. Outside is a magnificent Bodhi tree that is worth a look.
Would recommend a visit.

Visited right on time for the mangaLarathi, just before closing. Had a wonderful darshan and I spontaneously shed tears of joy! Felt His grace and presence there.

For architecture enthusiasts, the temple is really old with fine granite structure and intricate carvings. Overall, a blessed experience.

Beautiful, well maintained. Good positive energy inside.
Temple of Lord Shiva built in 1857 to facilitate Hindus in Colombo to worship.
Architecture resembles temples in Tamilnadu.

Peaceful place. Temple of lord shiva. Place is well maintained and clean. Good for pre shoots and insta pics. Has a wide walking path. Temple inside will be hotter, better at early morning or after 7pm.

Rude impolite security insisted that we remove our footwear and walk on the heated cement brick at 4pm . Even when explaining to him that the group had old ladies with sensitive feet he refused to change his primitive thinking. Worce was his comment to visit another temple if we did not agree with his rules.
