An interesting a piece of Canadian history with information placard about Louis Riel. It would have been nice to have had more information available. Makes you proud to think there were decent people back then who fought for civil rights when it would have seemed like an insignificant idea.
Did not expect to see a statue of Gandhi in Canada
A beautiful spot in the heart of Winnipeg where one can roam the grounds. Accessible by Broadway St and the River Walk. The architecture is neo classical topped off with the famous Golden Boy statue. Great to go check out anytime of year.

The Meeting Place was exactly what I was looking for during the Christmas Season. Very good contemporary live band and choir. Ii will definitely return during their Sunday Services in the new year. I felt very welcomed there. Very wheelchair friendly.
I like Manitoba to an MLM after my experience here. Unless you are able to remain Naive to the point of delusional or have enough wealthy friends and family to sponsor your advancement, you're not going to have a good time here😂
Flowers are beautiful, but the public seating needs more maintenance.
Great inside and out! Wonderful walking grounds and place to visit! Parking can be difficult as it is downtown and paid but you should be able to find some on the side roads.
I took this tour on Monday at 4:00. This was a really great tour. The tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and interesting facts. Well worth the time! A heads-up, if you take the last tour of the day, the gift shop will be closed by the end of the tour.
An opportunity to pay respect to a man who did more to create the Canada of today than many of our "founding fathers". Riel was important, and I was pleased to be able to see his grave today.
Nice place to spend the day in good company.
I lovely reception with the association of former MLA‘s and former Members of Parliament. Great talking to people who have served their communities in so many different ways. Looking forward to the next one.
Went on a tour of the building and sat in on Question Period. Really cool experience, highly recommend learning about Manitoba's history and our political system. The building is stunning.
What looks to be a normal very old stone church from the outside is very much different when you find out it's just the mere skeleton of what remains. We were fortunate to hear a tour that was going on regarding the history regarding this church. Pretty neat.
I went for a tour here, it was very nice
Winnipeg Open Doors is really good. Thank you to all the people who made the tour wonderful.
Gorgeous revivalist baroque architecture, beautiful to walk around here. Absolutely magnificent. Other than the random protests they keep it nice and clean, I remember going in here for a field trip, there are amazing paintings and stonework.
Absolutely gorgeous inside. If a person ever gets a chase to see the inside it is Absolutely beautiful and the history.
Nice place to walk around. Park your car and take a river walk to the forks.
About 40 minutes of a round trip. Nice and gentle river breez.

A nice place to take a break from a bicycle ride. 😁 Clean.
Fantastic landmark. A nice stop along a nice walk from downtown this spot is a historical spot that will bring out some of the jr.high social studies memory that you thought you had forgotten.

It's a nice parkette centered around a Korean war memorial. It is close to the historical beginning of St.Vital and a scenic lookout with a very informative info plaque of "Progress and Prosperity" The park backs onto the Red River. You are able to walk down the bushy slope and check out some nice views. It has potential to be more appealing park.
I was really surprised on how rich this building is marble floors brass everywhere and the also that the materials used have such detail.

You do have to sign in with valid ID there are free guided tours and lots of free parking.

Also take the time to walk around outside this building and the work that was put into this is really worth the time.
The are tours for this house but when I was there it was closed I had the opportunity to look around outside and the house is very nice.

The gardens also around the house are nice to visit
Beautiful grounds to stroll through and get another Canadian history lesson as you read plaques around the grounds.

Lots of green space with sculptures. If in Winnipeg I suggest coming down and taking a look for yourself.

It's a beautiful historic house that is well maintained and so very interesting to visit. If you ever have the chance defiantly take a tour! The Guild was amazing. I visited threw Doors Open Winnipeg.
The cathedral and his house are worth the visit.
This is the perfect place to put this and creates a great photo opportunity!

A fitting statue to have in front of the human rights museum. The plaque provides some inspiration and is well worth a read.
Not a real person. Well, yes Gandhi was a real person but this not him. It's a statue resembling him. Ive seen it, its definitely a statue and possibly of Mahatma Gandhi but I'm not %100 sure since I've never seen him. Not sure what he is doing in Winnipeg, will he be able to survive our frigid winter temperatures? I'm pretty sure it doesn't get that cold in India. Maybe we need to provide him a scarf and parka. Just a thought.

It's a cool statue but it's constantly getting chipped because people assume it to be stronger than it actually is. I can't believe that google thought this place was some kind of building and it. No, the Mahatma Gandhi statue does not have a washroom or an elevator. If you need, walk into the Canadian museum for human Rights 200 meters further on.
Statue of Mahatma Gandhi, father of India that too in Winnipeg!!! A great surprise!
This is honor of India!
First of all I am Indian.
Indian means we accept & respect all countries sovereignty, humanity, peace and prosperity for all.

This is a historic place in Manitoba. There are a lot of graves tied to famous people including Louis Riel. The Saint Boniface Museum is close by for you to visit. You are also able to see the Cathedral ruins. There is also a theatre in the cemetery where you can hear about the history of Manitoba and the French history. The plays are in French and English. The image I am posting comes from Trip Advisor but is very similar to what I have seen.
Peaceful cemetery.
I visited when the house was open the last weekend in May of 2017 when tours were offered for Open Doors Winnipeg. It's a beautiful historic house that is well maintained and so very interesting to visit. If you ever have the chance defiantly take a tour!
