Reviews

One of the most historical figure in India and her tomb is in bad shape. No recogniton. The path to the tomb is too narrow and filthy. Disappointed from ASI and its administration.

Nearest metro station is Chawri Bazar.
Raziyyat-Ud-Dunya Wa Ud-Din (Born in 1205 and Died on 15 October 1240, r. 1236–1240), popularly known as Razia Sultana, was a ruler of Delhi Sultanate. She was the first female Muslim ruler of the subcontinent, and the only female Muslim ruler of Delhi.
The grave of Razia is located at Mohalla Bulbuli Khana near Turkman Gate in Old Delhi. The 14th century traveler Ibn Batuta mentions that Razia's tomb had become a pilgrimage centre: A dome had been built over it, and people sought blessings from it. Razia's grave is said to have been built by her successor and half-brother Bahram. Another grave, said to be of her sister Shazia, is located beside her grave. Razia was a devotee of the Sufi saint Shah Turkman Bayabani, and the place where she is buried is said to be his hospice (khanqah).
Today, the site is largely neglected the Archaeological Survey of India performs annual maintenance to it, but has been unable to beautify it further because it is surrounded by illegal construction, and is approachable only through a narrow, congested lane. In the late 20th century, the local residents constructed a mosque near it. A ruined building in Kaithal is purported to be the site of Razia's original grave.

Tomb of Razia Sultan the first woman ruler of India and South East Asia is simple like that of Allauddin Khilji's in Qutub Minar Complex in construction but more sober, secluded, and forgotten in narrow lanes of Delhi 6. It is believed that Razia Sultan is buried here with her sister, but no one knows which one belongs to whom. It's inside a functional mosque, which I think is the reason it's still there looking at the level of encroachment around it.

The Red Fort in Delhi transports visitors through Mughal history. It is a must-see for history buffs due to its massive architecture, complex features, and dazzling nighttime light show. Inside, don't miss the museums, colorful markets, and beautiful cafes—a great combination of antiquity and modern delights!

Reaching Razia Sultan's tomb can be a treasure hunt, especially for first-timers. Google Maps might not be your best guide, but don't hesitate to ask friendly locals for directions. They'll be happy to point you towards this hidden gem.
Seeing the condition of the tomb can be bittersweet. While its architecture whispers of a glorious past, the present state reveals the need for restoration. Razia's tomb doubles as a masjid, adding to its unique atmosphere. However, one can't help but feel a pang of sadness for the condition of the resting place of Delhi's only female sovereign.
Despite the challenges, visiting Razia Sultan's tomb is a powerful experience. Paying respects to this remarkable woman, who defied gender norms and carved her own path in history, is truly inspirational. May she find eternal peace in the highest gardens of Paradise.
Remember, the caretaker might close the gate at any time, so plan your visit accordingly. It's best to call ahead or arrive early to ensure you don't miss out on this piece of Delhi's rich heritage.

The Red Fort, a marvel in Delhi, is a timeless testament to India's rich history. Visiting this iconic fortress with my family left me awestruck and deeply patriotic. The grandeur of its red sandstone walls, intricate architecture, and historic significance make it a must-visit destination. As we explored the imposing halls and intricately designed chambers, the echoes of bygone eras resonated. The sound and light show in the evening added a magical touch, narrating the tale of India's struggle for freedom. Standing on the same grounds where historic events unfolded evoked a sense of national pride. The Red Fort isn't just a monument; it's a symbol of resilience and the spirit of a nation. A visit here is a journey through time, weaving together the threads of India's vibrant past and the promise of a united future.

This place will definitely leave you filled with a lot of historical information.....
Forts architecture is beautiful, but as we know, because of repeated plundering in the past, it is kind of not at the peak of its historical charm....
3D educational experience & Museum very well explained the history of this place....
A lot of Mughal & Persian styled accessories could be bought here from the shops located in the premises...
Food here is exceptionally good & at a very affordable price..

Visiting the Red Fort was an enchanting journey through India's rich history. The majestic architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant red sandstone, evokes a sense of awe. The Diwan-i-Aam and Diwan-i-Khas showcase the opulence of Mughal design, while the sprawling gardens provide a serene escape. Exploring the historic fortifications and stepping into the iconic Lahori Gate offered a glimpse into India's bygone era. The sound and light show in the evening added a captivating narrative to the experience. The Red Fort stands as a testament to the grandeur of Mughal heritage, making it a must-visit cultural gem in Delhi.
One suggestion when you are going to buy tickets for a museum, don't buy tickets for a 360° show, it is just a waste of money and nothing else.

Nice historical place to visit. To see all the places you need at least two hours. There is a bazaar inside where you can buy shawls, souvenirs, etc.
Till evening the place remains open.
Ticket prices for Indians: 50 (only quila), 80 (quila with museum)
Remember: you cannot directly enter the fort from the opposite side of the Lal quila metro station (as happened in my case). So it is better to start from Jama Masjid metro station (gate no. 3) and then walk for 5 minutes to the ticket counter.

It's an amazing place. History lovers will love this place. This location is divided into several parts, such as Nahabat Khana, Dewan-e-Aam, and Dewan-e-Khas etc. The architecture of this place is marvelous. It is situated near the Lal Quila metro station, gate no. 4. There is also some souvenir shop inside the Lal Quila.

Red Fort is a very good place to visit. A lot of foreign people come here to visit. The red fort is very good. There are 4 museums here and all four are very good and full of knowledge. A lot of care is taken about cleanliness here. To maintain cleanliness here, dustbins are made at every place.

A great place to invest your time and energy and have fun with family..with 100% safe fun zone for kids and adults and different restaurants and cafe to serve you the most delicious food in Gurugram..

Well managed place. come and explore the beauty of the metro. Canteen, Toilets, female guards, wheel chairs and all possible amenities are there which makes your ride comfortable. Nice place.

Visiting the Lal Quila allows us to step back in time and immerse ourselves in the stories of ancient empires. It's an opportunity to admire the architectural marvels, walk the same paths as emperors did, and marvel at the craftsmanship that has stood the test of time. While exploring its magnificent halls and courtyards, it's hard not to feel a sense of awe and appreciation for the extraordinary craftsmanship and intricate detailing that went into creating such a majestic monument.
So, if you ever get the chance to visit the Lal Quila, be prepared to be captivated by its beauty and transported to a bygone era. It is indeed a remarkable monument that should be cherished and celebrated as an emblem of India's rich cultural heritage.
We went there in August, it’s really hot there, so keep umbrella with you, it is better to visit here in winters. We really enjoyed and you can even hire rickshaw here, you just need to buy tickets and you can also return from it.

Travel from Airport to Kashmiri Gate with pre purchased tickets was smooth. There is some problem at the exit gates, where the QR coded tickets sometimes does not open the exit gates of metro station. Station is comparatively less maintained, can be improved.

RED FORT IS GREAT,but the 4 museum which are inside has been turned into placard which says stories. This information can be found on Internet. Museums should consist of collection of items which communicate our heritage, arts, culture.

50 rs entry fees, if you buy from ticket counter, but if you book online then it will cost you 35 rs.
Also e- rikshaw service available which cost 24 RS up- down.
For the museum you will have to pay extra money.
Overall it's a nice place to visit one time.
Also restaurants are inside if you want to have food.

Being in the north direction from Shahjanabad city, it got its name Kashmiri Gate. This important monument was also famous for being used in the 1857 rebellion.

The place is historical , a must visit one time. The entry fee is 50 for Indians and 500 for foreigners. Also there are multiple museums and light and sound shows, you have to buy separate tickets for them. There is a cafeteria, and Delhi heights cafe inside the premises too. Both have a lot of food options. You'll enjoy it with your family and friends.

This is a very unique place to visit for everyone visiting or living in Delhi. It's not only deeply connected with our history but rather the culture of our country.
The fort is sprawling on a very large area, largely under military use. Still the smaller part is quite big. Most of the earlier building were destroyed by the Britishers after 1857 revolt. The present buildings are mostly made by the British. There are 4 museums and we can also enjoy light and sound programs in the evening.
There is a restaurant within the fort serving good food items.

Really, I loved this beautiful place "Lal Quila"! We were 4 friends and we enjoyed it so much. I'd recommend you guys if you wanna visit this beautiful place, go for it. There are many monuments and all of them are famous because of their attractive architecture, beauty, etc.

Amid many mahals and other buildings, Mumtaz Mahal has no striking feature to boast of.
It is located at the far left side of the Rang Mahal and not in a very good condition. There is nothing much to see. The toilet is nearby to this building.

Very bad experience. Very few fans are working. Peoples are boiling inside the bus stop. Every corner is garbage section. Worst bus stop i ever seen in my life. You never feel like that this is the "Inter-state bus terminal" situated in Delhi.

🇮🇳 When we saw the Red Fort from outside it was very beautiful. After that we booked tickets online. Then as soon as we entered the entry, there is a small market inside the Red Fort. Then we saw many gardens as soon as we went inside and we saw a throne on which all the kings used to sit. This throne was very beautiful. Then we saw a lot of museums

Safdarjung Tomb in Delhi is a beautiful architectural masterpiece, showcasing the Mughal style of design. The monument is well-maintained and has a serene atmosphere that is perfect for a peaceful outing. The intricate carvings and beautiful gardens surrounding the tomb make it a must-visit spot for history and architecture enthusiasts.

Kashmiri Gate is one of the 5 gates that have survived out of 14 in Delhi. It is the northern gate to the historic walled city of Shahjahanabad. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. The gate was so named because it faced north, towards the road to Kashmir.
The Gate played an important role in 1857 when both British and Indian freedom fighters used it during the mutiny.

Once a museum, this palace - originally made as part of the women's quarters - has now been restored to its old role as a palace, and nothing more. You can still see some signs of paint work on the insides of the arches, but that's about it.

The Mumtaz Mahal is located in the Red Fort, Delhi. The Mumtaz Mahal is one of the six main palaces that were positioned facing the Yamuna River. All six palaces were connected by the Stream of Paradise, a raceway which ran through them.
One of the topmost monuments of India and the walk around the place is so peaceful. A must visit for relaxation and learning further about the history of Indian revolution of getting freedom. There are also galleries within to learn further about each action and munitions used during that time.
Great place to be decided for children to understand our history and explore this monument. Also, they host lot of shops within the demesne. During Indian Independence day the Indian flag is hoisted then

Azad was the son of an Indian Muslim scholar living in Mecca and his Arabic wife. The family moved back to India (Calcutta [now Kolkata]) when he was young, and he received a traditional Islamic education at home from his father and other Islamic scholars rather than at a madrasah (Islamic school). However, he was also influenced by the emphasis that Indian educator Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan placed on getting a well-rounded education, and he learned English without his father’s knowledge.
Azad became active in journalism when he was in his late teens, and in 1912 he began publishing a weekly Urdu-language newspaper in Calcutta, Al-Hilal (“The Crescent”). The paper quickly became highly influential in the Muslim community for its anti-British stance, notably for its criticism of Indian Muslims who were loyal to the British. Al-Hilal was soon banned by British authorities, as was a second weekly newspaper that he had started. By 1916 he had been banished to Ranchi (in present-day Jharkhand state), where he remained until the beginning of 1920. Back in Calcutta, he joined the Indian National Congress (Congress Party) and galvanized India’s Muslim community through an appeal to pan-Islamic ideals. He was particularly active in the short-lived Khilafat movement (1920–24), which defended the Ottoman sultan as the caliph (the head of the worldwide Muslim community) and even briefly enlisted the support of Mohandas K. Gandhi.

Close to 1000 year old monument and no fan fare about it. One needs a lot of determination to get till here through the myriad of lanes. Unfortunately one only has the evidence of the Archeology board and the ancestral word of mouth of the locals as to the authenticity of this tomb. I mean there is no epitaph or engraving or any other visible evidences to prove it. I am sure the Archeology department has some base to their claim , if so why not display the source of the claim to the visitors.
There are 2 large Graves ( a larger one presumed to be Razia's sister and a relatively smaller one of Razia.) and 2 unknown kids Graves.
Subjective feedback - To reach here one has to travel with endurance, but upon reaching there one feels at peace.

Razia Sultan is one of the most important figure in the history of India.
She was the fifth Mamluk Sultan, one of the few female sovereigns ever in the entire history of Islamic civilizations across the world and only female Muslim ruler of the sultanate of Delhi. An excellent administrator and a brave warrior who ascended the throne when the society was extremely patriarchal.
The tomb is located in Bulbuli khana near Turkman gate . One can gain access to the tomb location by simply asking the locals or reading the sign boards on the way.
The tomb complex is now clean as it has been converted to a mosque.
Please take off your shoes before you enter the tomb complex.

Razia Sultan was the first woman muslim ruler of India. Her region was from 1236-1240 then her own noble rebels killed her. She died in haryana but later she was burried here now called as the Tomb of The Razia Sultan.
If you follow Google map to reach her you will reach from back side, so instead Googling ask the local people they will guide you proper way, i did the same. Because i reached from wrong side.
Now a days it's not only a historical Tomb but also a mosque is build up here on the name of Razia Sultan. The tomb is preserved by the Archeology department ASI (Archeological Survey of India).
I have also uploaded the pics of Delhi ki tang galiyan which heads towards her tomb.

Thousands of people do visits Jama Masjid every day, but few of them are aware about the fact that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (freedom fighter & the first education minister of independent India) is buried very near to it.

Although the road to this tomb is very narrow, it is best to leave any vehicle outside the main street near Jama Masjid. The road opposite to Gate 1 of Jama Masjid and keep asking for directions from senior citizens. The place is a Mosque and a open tomb and kept clean. There is a tap and water for Waju cleaning of hands and feet before prayers. The entrance is narrow.

One of the most important heritage of India, was built by Mughals in around 17th or 18th century (sorry my GK is weak). Good looking but not maintained by government. One can still offer salat here, it's running fine. Muajjin calls for prayer five times everyday. The outer area is very crowded and not maintained by the government. The Mina Bazaar nearby is one of the oldest markets of India and it should be protected and should keep proper cleaning.

Apart from the fact, that Maulana Azad played an important role in the Indian Independence struggle, the memorial is also important from the point of view of architecture in India. It is one of the initial buildings/ structures to be built by architects of Independent India and represents the shift towards post modernism in the nation.
About the complex, it is a small enclosure with the a arch/ vault like structure/ memorial in the centre. The grave is also present within the complex underneath the arch. The arch has been positioned in such a way that the dome of Jama Masjid fits perfectly within it. There are two pools on either side, which usually remain empty.
