Such a good vibe with amazing selection. Go with your friends and you will have fun. Just make sure you bring cash! I’ve been multiple times but this one was most memorable. You can do minimum spend or hourly!

We went for the happy hours and on their website and their marketing posts, it was 15.99 per person. But when we were paying, we were told that it was 25/person instead! It was a surprise to us. It would be nice if you could inform us it was holiday price or something before hand and have your website updated!

Beautiful place! They are responsive over email when I was booking, and when at location they came to the door fast when we called service. Overall very happy with their service!

We've been coming to this place for years—reasonable happy hour prices for enjoyable karaoke. It's clean and the service is consistently excellent—friendly and eager to assist. The drinks are good, although we haven't sampled their food. However, our disappointment stems from the limited variety of English songs, considering we're in Canada. It seems their primary customer base is Mandarin-speaking, with even Cantonese songs limited. The karaoke system is not user-friendly I believe they have recently updated the system and songs making it challenging to find songs. Also inside the karaoke is clean, but once you step outside the entrance, the common area is disgusting. The washroom, elevator, and floor give the impression they haven't been cleaned for years. It seems like the building management is doing a poor job. Take One should take action to urge the building management to address this issue, as it could negatively impact their business.

This place is really cool! We booked a room for a friend's birthday and had a fantastic time!

I will only say our only gripe was the system itself kept locking us out, so we had to keep closing and reopening it. But the staff was friendly and the atmosphere is fun. Great place to bring people that just want to sing their hearts out.

My friends wanted to go KTV. I looked up multiple places in Richmond Hill and Markham and decided in Take One due to rates. They charge $15 cash per person from 9-3am. The other all had $200+ minimum spends for small parties, so that put us off. The place was clean, the front desk lady was efficient and got us a room immediately. I had some technical issues with the machine and they switched us to another room without a fuss. The song selection for non Chinese music is limited and difficult to navigate. Western artists are listed under "other" however you'll often see Chinese artists mixed in there too. It was a good night and everything I expected it to be.

2023.08 pretty clean but kind of old , equipment ok

I'm definitely a repeat customer, I've been coming to Take One for a few years now, the cost is more than affordable and the customer service is amazing as well. From 1pm-9pm it's $12/pp + you get 2 beverages (obviously non-alcholic) which is very helpful if you sing a lot like myself and my friends. From 9pm-3am it's $15/pp and you have to bring ID. The party room is very spacious and there are a few screens, +3 mics, +dart board (bring coins). I had my birthday party there with about 18-20 people it can definitely fit a bit more as well. Everyone had a good time. There was another time I've gone from 1pm-2am. Jen is my favourite person there, she's always welcoming and radiant. They have many song options and they always try to keep up to date, usually if there isn't a song there, you can just go on YouTube. Their system is very user friendly, and if you need help they are really good at helping you right away and explaining how the system works. I suggest making reservations, it can be the day of, as they can get pretty busy. I highly recommend Take One, it's one of my most favourite places to go, and no one beats their cost.

Very affordable happy hour karaoke! Only $12/person and comes with 2 drinks from 1pm-9pm daily. 9pm-3am was $15/person. Cash and debit only. I can’t believe how they survive with this price. The environment was just alright, air conditioning in summer wasn’t strong enough.

Service was quick! Although service is mainly in mandarin, the guys were always welcoming and gave us what we needed.

Food is alright. Great Costco fries 🤣! Popcorn chicken might not be very worth it.

I like the karaoke machine here. Has plenty of songs. Note that is it in the basement floor. There wasn’t AC in our room so it got stuffy but they gave us a fan which helped a little.

Great vibes. I think it was 320 or 350 for a medium room that fit about 8 ppl. No time limit. Had open reservations on a Friday night. Lots of parking at commerce gate as well.

If you don’t spend all of the dollars on food, they hold the credit for next visit which I found nice.

Do not go here! The room was extremely hot and have cigarette smell. After we asked the employee to turn up the AC, it was still very hot in the room. The menu is very sticky,so you can imagine it never gets cleaned. The washroom was okay, but lights are dim in some slots. There are so many other better places to go for karaoke in that same area. Avoid this place!!!

Bad customer service.
Made a reservation a week in advance for birthday celebration. Staff claim there were no reservation made for us upon arrival. The staffs did not apologize and not even try to arrange a room for us.
Got evicted :( Not recommended.

Lets begin with the critical critiques:

The karaoke machine is CHINESE, requested to be changed to english but not such option.
The music is older music even the english titles anything below 2015....
Pretty sure no one comes to a karoke place to experience outdated songs......

Pros:
Room is nice, no tears or damage to furniture.

* There is a special surcharge 15% which i would assume is the tip plus the tax.. 13% tax + 15%

Not much to say but experience was Meh

Room smelled like smoke. Was quite irritating to throat. Song selections were standard and usage was standard. Was roughly 500$ before tax and tip for a 20 person room. Dice and cups were provided for gambling games. Sound system and microphones worked well without too much interference. Kitchen service doesn't start until 10 so we had to wait quite a bit for food. They would bring out one dish at a time so we were still getting food at 1 am. Would recommend eating beforehand. Amount of food was also quite small and not reliable - fish balls stated 12 count but definitely did not get that many per order. Compared to other places, did not feel like the food was adequate for the amount of money spent.

So sad to leave this review. They have a lot of potential but there were too many issues. I really want to find a good karaoke place but unfortunately this wasn’t it.

- so much potential in this place. Lots of space, great sound system
- they gave us a discount bc of the issues but honestly it still wouldn’t make us come back. Ever.

Cons:
- the door was locked when we went and no one was there even though we had a reservation.
- we tried calling and they insisted on using WeChat instead
- it smelled bad. This is such a weird thing to say but there was garbage all over the entrance and it smelled like stale takeout inside
- two rooms we went to had broken systems. They finally moved us upstairs when we asked. Everytime we moved we had to re-queue the songs
- to top it all off, the price on the receipt wasn’t what was outlined over the phone and I know this bc I double-checked explicitly what the price should be. The breakdown on the receipt was very sketchy and did not add up. Upon asking, the guy in charge made a big fuss over it in expressing his exasperation and finally gave us the price promised over the phone, but it wasn’t a good feeling. We weren’t trying to be rude or Karens, we just wanted the price that we were told…

PROS:
- Room is clean
- Songs up to date

CONS:
- Super cold. All of us had to keep our coats on
- Room smells like smokes
- Understaffed, and so no one came to our room despite calling several times. There was only one person working. We had to repeatedly to the front desk for mic battery changes, drink orders, etc
- Gratuity included without reminding the clients
- Only WeChat for mobile control of the karaoke system. Else you'd have to take turns to sit in front of the one screen

My friends and I had an awesome experience at this KTV! Happy hour is from 2 pm to 8 pm, and you can stay all 6 hours and only pay $20 per head (including tax, but no tip). And it includes one drink! The room has its own washroom as well.

One star was taken off because we had to call to ask how to use the machine, and also to clarify if the drink was included. The washroom needs either paper towels or a hand dryer. The room also smelled like cigarette smoke, so better ventilation would make this my go-to karaoke with friends all the time. Right now however, while this place is still recommended, I will continue to try other KTVs.

There weren’t any hidden fees for our booking (taxes and service charge which is usual), service was quick and the servers are nice. However, the rooms smelled of cigarettes and the neighbouring rooms also had active smokers inside. I had to leave early because it smelled too much of smoke/cigarettes and it wasn’t a healthy environment. It would be a good place to karaoke if they had proper ventilation system and the rooms didn’t smell of second hand smoke. Disappointed.

The website said $15.99 per person for happy hour, when I called to make a reservation, they said it’s actually $20 per person which includes tax and tips. That’s fine but when I actually came here with my friends they then tried to trick us that the $20 didn’t include tips to try to charge us more….. there was a service charge added to the bill and they wanted us to pay tips on top of that………I can’t tolerate this type of behaviour where they try to sneak things into the bill. That’s basically fraud lol. Some honesty in running the business plz. Maybe it’s the staffs, some controls need to be added.

Went to Take One for our holiday gathering, and had a great time there. Staff are dope and prices are very reasonable. We can pick songs from the karaoke machine's song list or YouTube, and if you have WeChat you can use your phone to pick songs. The system is quite easy to use.
They have a pay-as-you-go system where we would be ordering at the front desk and paid. This worked out well for our group as we were paying for our own drinks and no one had to do the math at the end of the night.
One thing this place is missing is a service button in the room, we had to walk out of the room and ask questions at the front desk or at the bar. Not a deal breaker but definitely room for improvement.

It’s written in Chinese, Korean, English, and Japanese are also supported. But Korean keyboard is useless. Not many options of songs. Happy hour is cheap however, they charged us $27 of "SERVICE FEE". When we get some information about here on the phone call, they didn’t let us know about THE SERVICE FEE and HAPPY HOUR PRICE specifically. From the beginning we thought we can pay $20 ish per one person, but turns out we were three but needed to use a room for 4 ppl and its price was $100. The room wasn’t look like 4 people can use lol 😂 When they let us our room, the room was super cold even cooler than outside. We asked them turn on the hitter several time, but still was super cold. While we were singing, we found that our microphone was uncharged so we asked staff that we could get another one which is charged battery. That is their duty of this job. We didn’t ask any extra service.!! If you said the service fee will be charged from the beginning, things would be cleared. And we even didn’t ask bring us water. Free drink per one person was part of happy hour, wasn’t it?! . Does the KTV have the right to charge customer the additional $27 as a service fee??????? Is it legal??? Oh, and all the staffs treat us that we were like a back consumer but we weren’t for sure. Cuz my friend already had an experience here and it didn’t happened last time when she was with other friends. That’s why she took me and other friend there. BAD EXPERIENCE EVER AND NEVER GOING BACK!!! 🙃☹️🙃

Went to Take One during happy hour (1pm-9pm), great value for the money ($12 per person, including 2 drinks).

Took us some time to get used to the karaoke machine but once we got the hang of it it was easy to find what we wanted.

Good selection of Chinese songs, and we were able to find most of the English, Korean and Japanese songs that we were looking for.

Songs are up to date , room is clean but smell like too much cigarettes smoke in the room. If you get the bill, plz double check due to they have already charged S&T (service charge and Taxes). Be aware pay extra.

2022.11 mic is low power at arrival. No explanation for first time customer. Happy hour is including 1 drink, tips and tax added. Sound quality is so so . Drink is really simple. Many sound are Cantonese but indicate as mandarin. Room has individual bathroom

It was my first time to go here for karaoke. They offer happy hour KTV from 2:00-8:00pm for a fee of $18 + tax & tips per head including one complimentary drink. I think it’s quite affordable. The service was ok but their speakers, microphones and tv quality were not too good. They quality was poor. However, their song list and singers selection were ok though. Just don’t have any high expectation!

Very poor customer service experience. No one explained how to use the controls in the room. They have a very small catalog of music. We had to remind them several times for our food orders. Constantly had the wrong food coming into our room. They over charged us by a couple hundred dollars for food and drink items we didn’t order. We spent over an hour calculating our own bill. One of the worst karaoke experiences ever.

Spontaneously came here on a Friday night, and got the Hello Kitty room. The room was clean, and the staff was decent. There were two downfalls which were the song selection touchscreen was laggy, and the simplified Chinese covering the already existing lyrics.

Want to be clear that this one-star rating is for weeknights and weekends only. Their weekday afternoon happy hour is more like a 4-star experience, with much better service, clean rooms, decent selection of songs (not 5 stars because the washrooms never have soap, the song selection touch pads have sensor issues, and the call button for service is a loud constant beep until the service guy comes in to cancel it. So you can't really sing during this time).

We've become a regular for their weekday afternoon happy hour this year, since our old go to Karaoke closed down due to the pandemic. But the past two weeknight/weekend experiences were so bad, they lost us as customers forever. There are many Karaoke places in Markham, we will spend our money elsewhere.

Problems we had these past two weeks:

- worst service we've had in any Karaoke place.

Bad experience # 1 - Weekend afternoon K - Right from the start, the two staffs acted just like another reviewer here said "seemed really upset that we existed". They kept saying they don't want to do this, and push the other person to open a new room for us. Yes, arguing back and forth right in front of us like we didn't exist. We thought if they are that busy, we were about to leave and go to another place. Then one of them asked "can you just have one mic?" and reluctantly took us in.

- found out the place was only half full, yet they gave us a dirty room filled with smoke smell (literally smelled like a big party of smokers just left).

- no mic covers (which are standard now), and the mics they gave us had no batteries from the start. We called them through the loud service button, never came, we had to go outside and chase them to get new mics and mic covers.

- we were there for a few hours, service was very slow (we ordered beers and food intermittently). Many times they didn't show up, so we had to go outside to find them.

- paying time, they said "the machine has some problems", we can only pay cash. Didn't look at us, not apologetic at all, just wanted us to pay and leave. This has never happened to us during the weekday afternoon K.

Bad experience # 2 - Weeknight - still got a dirty smoke filled room, still had slow and bad service throughout. But worst than before, the minimum charge they told us was not what they ended up charging.

- AGAIN "there's something wrong with the machine, pay cash only". They didn't even give us a receipt, we're pretty sure they were trying to pocket some money.

- Bad attitude as always, not apologetic at all, more like our existence inconvenienced them, "just pay up quickly and leave" attitude.

Pros: - Wide spacious room.
- Decent song selection of English, Korean, Chinese music
- Decent menu
- Music is all cataloged and selected through a touchpad mounted to a wall. The search function made it so easy to find the song we were looking for.
Cons: -Not the best service. The person ringing us up at the front seemed upset that we existed. He didn't smile, speak to us or even look up during and after our transaction. :( Maybe he was having a bad day.
- Disgusting washroom. NO SOAP! WHY??!?! Honestly, the women's washroom looked like someone had trashed it.
- It took us 15 minutes to find parking 🥲

Happy hour is definitely worth the price, yes there will be service charges and tax but it was totally reasonable, as it comes with a drink. Really nice service, the two male staff was really welcoming and provided assistant when there were technical issues. Wifi was a bit busted that caused the tv to lag but it's probably caused by weather.

The price for each person was around $17 with all the tax, service fee and tips, stay time is 2pm - 8pm (On a weekday, price on weekend might vary). It is a really fair and cheap price, as the other two stores I went were asking $25 per person (fees and tips not included), while one of them their hours ends at 6pm. Great experience overall!

It was okay at best. I'm not really a karaoke person, but some family and friends enjoy it. Was in a theme room and it was a little run down and that incredibly strong scent of cigarettes. The staff tried to address it, so that was okay and they did address some other things right away. Then again, I think we were the only ones there at the time. At least one mic looked like it was near end of life with metal wiring sticking out of the head. The cover put on it was also torn. Sound was okay and I didn't interact with the system to comment. Free parking out front. Washrooms were in need of attention, and we were there fairly early that day, likely before their main busy times, so I kind of expected they would have been cleaned.

Pros: very nice room, lighting, fast service & the servers we had were very nice. Good selection of songs and sound system.

Cons: I would have given the place 5 stars but when I booked my regular room I was told the minimum price was $250 + taxes = $300 something. Upon arriving I confirmed the price with the server again. 10 minutes after the manager came in and said "the minimum price is actually $350 + taxes and tips". I said okay because I knew I was going to order more than $350 worth of food and drink. But that was just very sketchy, and they put you in a tough spot where all your friends are already there and you cannot cancel. When I was checking out the other KTV I also experienced the same thing where different servers told me different prices and all were more expensive than the online price.

Went for the first time. Menu was WAY Overpriced, the selection is only in Mandarin so we were left guessing and scrolling for songs, mic and speaker was poor quality. Atmosphere was aesthetically nice but that was about it. Service wasn’t that helpful. They did not know how to make drinks- one drink had no alcohol and the cocktails were poured in pint size glass. A glass of water with lemon was $6.50 yet the beer was $6.99. How does this even make sense to overcharge for water???? We also asked if there was gratuity charge included or if the room was a minimum of $250.00 for the night before tax, but failed to tell us that they included a 15% room charge on top of the 13% HST for a total of 28%. My small glass of wine was $12.99 ...ridiculous!
