My wife and I stayed in a nearby hotel for a few days and went everyday to the West End Brasserie for breakfast. There's a good choice of dishes available, and we tried quite a few. We really enjoyed our breakfast, the staff was very friendly, great service. Highly recommended!

Popped in this morning before I set off on a shopping spree. I had toast and a cappuccino. Toast was lovely and crispy. The staff were very attentive and could not have been more helpful. The restaurant itself is very clean and tidy. I had a window seat and people watched. There was no pressure to leave after I finished, very relaxing start to my day.

Stopped by for lunch. Fancy decor with beautiful chandeliers that make photos look great. Great food. Christie took care of us and she was absolutely wonderful and very attentive. one of the best restaurant service experiences I came across.

Lovely spot- Plat du jour is great value!! Staff were warm, knowledgeable and happy to help. Nothing was too much bother. There were several large groups in and only 3 staff but all staff were excellent and made our table of 2 feel very cared for. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Fairly disappointed with the service for the level of dining/price. I booked a table for a work dinner and overall staff were courteous but not very attentive.
We were seated and had to wait 15+ minutes for drink orders to be taken, then another 15+ for drinks to be served, and had to ask multiple times for waters. We also had to ask for food menus even though I booked for dinner.
It took another 20 minutes before they took our orders - after that the food took a normal amount of time to come, and was decent, but the portion sizes were fairly small for the price.
We finished dinner and waited awhile for the server to come back, but eventually had to flag him down to ask for dessert menus, only to be told the kitchen was closed (~21:15). We were not upset that the kitchen closed at 9, that’s reasonable as the restaurant closed at 10, but would have hoped the server would give us a heads up beforehand in case we wanted dessert/additional food.
Also would not have been as frustrating if the restaurant was busy as understand if places are understaffed, etc. but we were one of three tables at the time with at least 4 servers.
Overall though, the food was alright, location was good, and staff was nice enough. Maybe we just went on an off night.

The Brasserie is such an elegant yet cozy spot. The high ceilings create a sense of spaciousness, making the small area feel much larger. The overall ambiance is delightful, and the service is excellent, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

The service could have been better (my table wasn’t ready for my reservation, my food took almost an hour, and my water glass remained empty throughout my meal despite the tables next to me being filled often)… that being said, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious! I would absolutely return. ◡̈

Visited this beautiful restaurant when visiting Edinburgh, what an absolute gem it was! Food was delicious! Service was amazing with very friendly staff, very nice cocktails, all for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and return if ever in Edinburgh again!

Recently took a group from Germany for an evening meal. Staff, service and food excellent. Gabriela and Megan were attentive friendly and professional with nothing too much trouble. Fabulous location, comfortable surroundings and a quality selection of drinks. Highly recommended when in the capital.

Celebrated a birthday there and they were very accommodating. Good wine, good food, reasonable prices. Would go back

We had breakfast here. The quality of the produce wasnt great to be honest. Although the service was very good and the interior of the building was beautiful the food didn't match up. I went for a scottish breakfast. I felt the sausage and haggis was a bit stodgy. The eggs were very good. We were also served what i presume was supposed to be fried bread was it toast? Who knows. We werent given butter to accompany it. The server got us butter but it was absolutely rock hard. I had a mocha and an orange juice. Both were lovely. The Orange juice specifically was a real treat.

Location: Perfect. Right in the center.
A cosy place to have your breakfast or brunch with a nice window view.
Food : Haggis were good and pancakes were just perfect.

We visited the first week of december and the decoration was already as per festive mood.

Great experience at Dine! The servers were all friendly and helpful and the food was divine - would absolutely recommend. Christmas crackers provided at the table was a lovely surprise too!

Very nice place for dinner. Relaxed but classy atmosphere. Great personal touch and hospitality. Good food albeit could have been somewhat warmer. Excellent wine.

Browns was amazing. We had a lovely warm welcome from the host who greeted us and showed us to our table (which also made me feel very fancy). The waiter who then served our table for the night was also very friendly and looked after us well. The food was amazing! We had the pork belly and the salmon and it was so good😍 and then for dessert we had the cheese board and the brioche with caramelized banana. I 100% recommend the brioche dessert, I'm deffo going to order it again next time I go. All the ingredients were fresh and everything was amazing, right down to the decor of the place which was also beautiful. 100% recommend! Thanks for a great dinning experience!!

This is a very nice restaurant in Edinburgh. Its location is a bit off the main street and on the 2nd floor. But the decorations are very contemporary. The food is good with a modern twist. It is gourmet but not Scotland local food. Overall, a good experience.

Absolutely fantastic! Booked for my wedding reception and the staff and food couldn’t have been more perfect if the tried! Emmy was fabulous with the cake, our server was amazing and all complements to the chefs, the food was outstanding! All my guest commented how wonderful the food and staff was! Couldn’t have had a better night!

First time we have been to this ivy in Edinburgh but just as good as all the other ones we have been to. As always food was excellent and staff really helpful and nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend a visit if in Edinburgh

Fabulous restaurant with amazing food, service, and cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They all made our celebratory day extra special.

This is not my first time at Dine and it certainly won't be my last either. The food is so fresh and utterly delightful. The drinks and cocktails are wonderful and some lovely chat from Angus at the bar after my meal too. The market deal is fabulous, as a solo diner I had 3 courses and a half bottle of wine for just £28. An absolute bargain! Compliments to the chefs too. A lovely experience and would highly recommend xxx

I am not sure if my expectations were high due to the reputation that follows this place or the location of it. I have been couple of times now and probably I will be more, but worth to mention some comments for things to potentially be improved.

There is a noticeable difference between the shifts of staff. Some of our visits the staff were exceptional and in some others below average. In general though, minus the consistency, you have a feeling that you are taken care of from the moment you are there.

Food wise, there are some inconsistencies as well but the majority of the time the food is good and tasty. There is a small noticeable tension to shrink the portions across the time but in general the standards of taste are maintained high.

The main non positive comment I would like to highlight is the inconsistency in the pricing without in some cases. For example, eggs benedict are usually on the range of the £ 10-12 for breakfast but in one occasion we were there for breakfast, some time as always and we have been informed that there is no breakfast menu due to bank holiday but it’s lunch menu. Practically the same eggs benedict went up to £ 15-16. That doesn’t make much of a sense and may worth to be reviewed.

Overall, it’s a good place that I would recommend, worth visiting for sure.

Most delicious breakfast! Great service, amazing place to eat for people with celiac (gluten allergy). We were in Edinburgh as a birthday trip for my dad and as a surprise he got a gluten-free chocolate cake at the end of breakfast. Definitely recommendation!

We were celebrating a special occasion and made a note simple on the online booking but were surprised by celebratory desserts 🥳 Wonderful service by the staffs. Food was good and had a wide selection, including vegan options. One thing I would appreciate is if the poached eggs were not overdone.

Went with a couple of friends to celebrate my 30th, the staff were so friendly and attentive, and there was a great choice on the menu. We got some light snacks to start and Prosecco which was all lovely and the food was delicious, we all got a salad which was actually very filling and so tasty, and shared some truffle chips which were divine!
Afterwards we had a couple of cocktails that were also fabulous and totally worth the money. It is quite pricey but as a treat it was just perfection! Will definitely be back

Booked here as my other half got a voucher when he left his job. Booking was easy online, and we also got a txt then and one on the day of our booking.
On arrival we were greeted by lovely hosts who seated us upstairs, the menu on weekends before 4 is brunch, mix of small plates, brunch items and more hearty meals.
We had been told to get the bread and boy were they right, salty and soft with lovely butter.
We couldn’t decided on the mains so opted for 2 smaller plates and I special ( think minute steak with chunky chips)
We had a few cocktails too. 1 selected wasn’t as described so was removed and replaced… amazing service. Our waitress was amazing nothing too much troubles
The food when it arrived was fab. Steak seemed to have a garlic rub that I personally felt was too much but the zucchini fryes were amazing.
The cost of the 2 courses, bread and 3 cocktails was £135.
The atmosphere here is also good. Large space but at our table we felt like it was just us

A lovely environment with friendly staff.
A wide range of food on the menu to suit most.
I enjoyed the "surf and turf" which was spectacular. Cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce just made this dish for me.
Dessert was the cheseboard which was a great selection paired with a good number of crackers and a beautiful chutney. All that was missing was a little butter. But that didn't affect my meal.

Had dinner on New Years Eve - large table of 11 family members. The service was good even though it was getting really busy as the evening progressed. Definitely need to make a reservation! We place our food order in advance and that really helped a lot.

Aside from warm beer, the food was define. It was (very) large portions - had no complaints from the hungry eaters.

Up one flight of stairs on the first floor of Traverse theatre which is in adjacent to Usher Hall.

Very nice interior as walking up as well as entering with a tree in the middle of the dining area on the right and on the left the Bar area with Bar with seats.

The lunch deal which is very good value for money, but combination of lacklustre dishes.
The duck terrine with tiny salad and a triangle of bread was below average and the Starter of fish with some chicory leaves was also average. The mains of fish was reasonably good.

The desert of filo pastry with fruit and cream was average as was the ice cream sorbet dessert.

The drinks for £5 on the classic cocktail was a good value and the margarita particular was well made.

The service was attentive.

The ambience was lively, a table to rather close together, and the lighting rather low, because partly because of the tree of scaring the light.

Good value for money for average tasting food, but excellent value for cocktails

Just of Castle Terrace in the traverse theater. Up on flight of stairs and there is a lift.

Nice design of Dine at the stairs.

Restaurant is modern interior with a tree in the middle that breaks things up.

Lunch menu- 2/3 courses excellent value. Had the black pudding croquette- excellent dish and the mains of Beef pave- again excellent.

Had the classic cocktails for £5! Amazing value. The margarita was excellent- shaken not frappe and the Americano.

Vibrant on a Wednesday lunch time!

On entering the restaurant l did not feel a wow factor which l had expected l thought it would have been a bit more luxurious being owned by Gordon Ramsay and also at the prices After saying that it will not stop me returning The food was amazing fantastic delicious every single mouthful l enjoyed We went at 6pm so it was not too busy service was excellent they were very attentive but as the restaurant got busier the service was not so slick which was a pity M Stewart

Very pleased with food, service and location.
The scallops were excellent and the main courses, burger and/or fish and chips left nothing to be desired. The wine selection pleased us too. My desert, Eton mess was good. The Meringue was top, I personally would have preferred more fruits and less cream.
Friendly and attentive service. Nice ambiance.

Absolutely excellent! Just walking past around lunch time, spied the lunch specials and dropped in. Jacob was a wonderful host, and the food presented beautifully and tasted amazing. My partner said this was the best risotto she ever had. Such a delightful fit out.

The food overall was good(would give it 3 stars) except for one dish which was the mango salad the pictures; it was quite bland even with the mango and the salad tasted old other than that everything was fine. The service was a great man with slicked back hair was our waiter and he was very apologetic and professional when we didn't eat the salad asking if it wasn't okay etc. He even came back and offered a dessert on the house.

We were offered a discounted price for the all you can eat breakfast at this restaurant attached to the Double Tree Hilton hotel as part of our stay.

The breakfast selection was surprisingly good and the staff was very prompt.

The monthly vegan night never fails to please. Three courses for £17.50 is great value for money and the menu changes every month. The staff are very attentive and helpful.

We can not fault the service or the food. We had the steak night sharing platter and everything was perfect ...and great value with a bottle of malbec for two for £55. ...CAN NOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH

Ok food served with truly exceptional service. Our waitress accommodated our every whim and request with a big smile (we had some folks with dietary restrictions and allergies in our group - all were made to feel welcome).

Average. Servers did genuinely try but mistakes were made with our order. Food was average, triple cooked chips were single cooked at best. Will not return. Would not recommend.

The mushroom fricassée was amazing. It had a very chic delicious flower :). The staff was very friendly and helpful. My friends loved the experience as well. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to fully explore the menu, but I hope we'll make it back soon.
Oh, the prices are really good for that area of Edinburgh!

Truly awful. My guacamole & pomegranate entrée was really quite nice, but everything else was a disappointment... at best. The bread was stale and inedible. My main (a quinoa salad) literally had ROTTING artichoke in it. You could smell it across the table. After letting the waitress know, all we got was a cursory "sorry". Thank god they had an (overpriced) dram of Oban whisky.
