This gym is conveniently located, has a variety of classes and everything I need to get my exercise done.
The machines have seen better days many of them have pads that are ripped and spilling filling. A lot of the equipment could use a refresh or an upgrade. When a machine breaks it takes several weeks for them to be serviced and back in working order.
I like the variety of classes but even when it’s not fully attended the classrooms can be kind of tight.
I enjoy the access to a pool but you’re often sharing lanes because half the pool is occupied by swims lessons.
This place gets the job done but has serious opportunity for improvement.

My personal trainer, Thomas, was excellent. He listened to my needs and was very patient and effective at the same time. The gym is spacious and during the time I went, it was not crowded. I feel like the machines and other amenities are very good.
The manager, Ben, is very friendly and attentive. Overall, it has been a positive experience so far.
Not sure what the deal is with all the complaints about WSC. Recently subbed, I think it’s amazing so I’m glad I took a chance on it.

80 dollars but I’m walking distance so I never have to worry about parking or transportation. I realized with PF, if I metro there like 12x it’s not even worth it. 80 dollars is pretty pricey, but I’d say it’s about worth the cost. It’s not even much compared to other places when I was researching and trying around. I think it’s most comparable to one life, but slightly more premium experience. It’s definitely better than planet fitness. Not as great as equinox or vida admittedly, but I’m fine saving the extra 120 a month.

Staff has been really friendly so far! There’s always some new class ready, and I never have to wait long for machines. For anyone struggling, I’d consider going early in the morning rather than after work for a quiet session. I know not everyone can do this, but it’s what works for me.

Glad I took a chance on WSC, I’m really enjoying my experience so far.
I’ve been going to this location in Columbia Heights for about 2 full days. I had an interaction with Benjamin the trainer supervisor (I believe) who wanted me to get a personal trainer. Before the 2 full days, I went to view the space, and Benjamin was very nice to me at first. Then the 2 time for a little consultation talk through, still nice… I decided that I didn’t want it after really speaking with a friend of mine about it. As a dancer I do cardio all day long depending on the class, so speaking with someone outside of the gym, and getting feedback I said no to the personal trainer package. Now, the 2 full days I went, Tuesday, and Wednesday, it feels as if Benjamin is disappointed that I didn’t want a personal trainer because how his demeanor comes off when I walk into the space. The staff at the front desk can seem a little cold at first, but I think that’s just their hard exterior not knowing me! I’m hoping to get more understanding of them the more I go. It’s a great gym and it’s 1 full block away from my job, so I thought the convenience was just what I needed to stay in good shape for myself.

Hoping to see a little happiness in the staff going there more, just to feel welcome as a black gay man. :)
I highly recommend Alice as a PT. She was excellent in helping me recover from my neck injury. She identified stretches and exercises to help me address my pain and nerve issues. She is also caring, easy to talk to, and took the time to listen to my concerns and address my questions.
I came in to receive help with a hamstring injury that had not been getting better over a four month rest period and thank goodness I was in the hands of Alice Aehl. Highly intelligent and versatile in her treatment methodologies she helped isolate the area of pain and laid out a detailed plan to get me back on track to my running ways. Through her treatment, my leg was feeling stronger and stronger each week to the point that the pain had subsided and I was on a path to running again. I would highly recommend Alice to anyone in need of physical therapy treatment!
I've never had any known issues with my body movement and also wasn't injured - but through years of moving my body in certain ways I developed Sciatica & Disc Issues. I have been lost & confused for a year and a half trying to figure out my new reality - and previously didn't have any luck with another PT back in Chicago.

When it flared up again this summer my PCP encouraged me to re-try PT, and I'm glad I found Capitol PT! I've been coming to Capitol PT for about 3 months now to see Dr. Kaitlyn and she has been an angel in disguise of human form.

She does an amazing job of creating a safe space to discuss what's going on with my body and helping educate me for what my body needs to keep me optimistic about my future. In the short time I've been going, I've been able to better equip myself with the unique movements my body needs to minimize pain while also work on getting stronger again! I'm excited to continue my journey with her.

I also need to mention that the front desk staff here is also amazing - they always greet me with a bubbly smile and always work with my schedule to try and find what I need! They really care - and unfortunately that is a rare thing we face as patients sometimes!
the staff was terrible. for $90 a month, i expected greater respect. the poor are staff the reason that I quit. my work covered my membership fee. this gym was convient to my home, the equipment was fine. The other customers were respectful. but the staff made me ill 🤢.
They kept pushing me to download their app. the app did not enhance the value of my membership.
If you are already a "gym person" and you avoid interacting with the staff, this gym is good. In any other case, spend your time, and your money elsewhere.
at the first sign of an issue, call and quit. if the issue gets resolve, rescind your cancelation.
Kat was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I cannot say how appreciative I am to her and this practice. They take the time to speak to you and really treat you like a person and care about your well being. Highly highly recommend.
I’ve been going to see Dr. Subha for a few years now to treat TMJ and she’s helped me tremendously. At the start I had jaw locking, clicking and pain that was causing migraines. Her expertise helped me overcome the serious problems that TMJ was causing and live pain-free for the first time in several years. Not to mention she’s kind and very caring.

It is extremely difficult to find qualified people to treat TMJ and so for anyone in the DMV area looking for a proven expert to treat their pain, look no further than Dr. Subha!

Really nice gym for the price and perks!
You have $20 month to month. You have a swimming pool, free weight area, classes, sauna, power lift areas, cardio equipment and just so much.
It does get busier in the evening so you can't use the machines quickly but people are nice about it. Really nice gym.

Love coming to all Ms. Tamara Coleman classes. She is the best instructor for Pilates, Burns, Core Cross Training, Total Body Conditioning, and Aquatic exercise. I like the NYSC for its convenient location. The gym has a lot of exercise equipments, nice environment, many classes to choose from that fit your schedule. It’s clean and the staff is very friendly. After a long working day, the gym is my quality me time. I feel so relaxed and refreshed afterwards.
Used to be good before current management took over. Now classes are canceled without warning and bad excuses ushered daily. The studio itself is fine and kept in good shape but the coaches are all new and rotating. No head coach and very little community fostering. Have had four head coaches in less than a year and all keep leaving after a few months. Some of the coaches are good but sadly only one has been at the studio for more than 6 months, most get moved to a different location as soon as they become more established replaced by new coaches. Members keep leaving because of how poorly is run and thus many classes are empty.
Should add that these concerns have been shared with studio management multiple times via emails, calls and even tried contacting corporate. I have even voiced them to old management who insisted things would get better soon with little to no results. A new head coach has joined (4th in a year) but classes are still getting cancelled without any warning due to them depending on substitute coaches.
I like that all the entire space and all the equipment is on one floor. And because it’s on the third level, the gym gets a lot of natural light. The layout is well-thought out; it doesn’t feel cramped. They just have to update the signage, as it still says WSC. And please provide better quality towels.
Subha is hands down the best physical therapist I have ever seen and also very likely in DC. She is kind and smart, works with the latest evidence-based approaches, uses a variety of techniques including dry needling, manipulation of the body, and exercises. She is willing to be responsive to the patient's needs and feedback and also has good referrals to other specialists if needed. I highly recommend her. I've been going to her for nearly 2 years now to try to get back into shape and working order from hip, knee, and foot issues... almost there!
Pure sports has been amazing for my post-ankle surgery rehabilitation journey.

The responsiveness and tailored approach has been been exceptional. Under the guidance of Purvi, I have regained optimal functionality within a mere four months.

The investment has unquestionably been worthwhile, and having explored various DC PT spots, I can confidently say pure sports is a premier choice for personalized, one-on-one care.
Staff and facilities are top notch. The real star is Subha, had terrible biceps and pectoral tendonitis after a rib injury. Couldn’t set it straight for years - Subha quickly diagnosed it and treated it effectively. She’s amazing. Also, she’s surprisingly incredibly strong and can easily work and maneuver through thick muscle or tight muscle. Back to full strength and lifting/hockey thanks to Subha!
Great studio in a great location. I moved to DC over a year ago and have been very pleased with OTF 14th st. Shout out to Tyler, Chase and Jihad…they’re my faves! You can’t go wrong taking a class with them!
Its so good my daughter was so obsessed looking at on her phone!
I cannot recommend this studio enough! Every week, I eagerly anticipate my Pilate sessions, especially with Kelly, who is a phenomenal instructor. Her guidance and expertise have immensely benefited my well-being and improved my posture significantly. Shannon's Pilates 1 classes are the perfect way to kickstart my mornings; her sessions have been a delightful introduction to Pilates for me. Being new to Pilates, I've found the entire team, including Marc who's always responsive and attentive, to be incredibly patient and supportive. The variety of classes they offer ensures there's something for everyone.

Wow wow wow! I ❤️this studio. Coaches and staff are welcoming and helpful. I especially love Coach Roula! (I’m from Michigan and have been to a few other OTfs. )
I love coming here! The coaches are amazing and really care about your fitness goals. They really hype you up during your class. The facilities are clean and it’s located in a great area. I’ve tried a bunch of gyms but this one has kept me engaged and exercising here never feels like a chore. I always finish my workout feeling great.
Very well organized and clean place. Instructors are professional and friendly.

Subha is a fantastic physical therapist. It’s clear that she actually cares about her patients. Subha goes above and beyond to help her patients get better and continues her own education to be up to date on new treatments. Unlike some other PTs I’ve been to, she’s very involved and hands on for stretches/exercises, and is extremely knowledgeable about the body and how injuries impact other parts of the body. I would absolutely recommend Subha. She accepted my insurance and her office did a verification to help me understand my financial responsibility.
I have been to many physiotherapists over the years but without doubt Purvi at Pure Sports Physical Thereapy is the best. She is a wonderful practitioner and has made such a difference to my wellbeing. She is the queen of shoulders and backs. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If anything hurts she’s the person to make it better. She’s super flexible on timings and always responds quickly to appointment requests. Emma Washington DC
I love the hands-on, one-on-one approach. I lived in Spain most of my life, and my physical therapists would use needles all the time. It turned out to be a very effective way of improving my back aches. I went to see Purvi because of a sprained ankle, and I am very happy with my choice.

She also submits the claims to my insurance company which saves me a lot of time.

I am happy to recommend her.

Aero dance class is a private school I went there a few days ago. My friend is learning dance there so I went to see her dance.
Seeing their dance opened me up so I decided to join there after a few days. Many thanks to more dance classes in a few days.
Getting admitted there... Allah Hafez...
Pleasant & smallish fitness club that has everything most anyone needs. Some equipment is broken and you do have to commit to a year. Signup was very quick & easy. I go during off-peak times so I can’t comment on how busy it gets during peak hours.
Very nice, the team is great. Well equipped.
In the one-hour class, I consistently burn 1000+ calories, intensely lifting weights, rowing, and running. Afterward, I always feel cardiovascularly awesome. Sometimes delayed onset muscle soreness the next day reminds me to rest and recover a day in-between workouts.
Subha Nagasubramanian has been amazing helping me heal from two major orthopedic surgeries. Every time I come for a session, she is able to make even the smallest adjustment that makes the biggest difference in my gait and getting my independence back. She listens to all my concerns and gives me helpful solutions. I have gone to physical therapy many times throughout my life and have never had someone as knowledgeable and precise as Subha. After a lifetime of pain, it can me hard to not get discouraged, but Subha always lends an ear and gives really beneficial encouragement and perspective. I am really grateful I chose Capitol PT for physical therapy and I highly recommend them to anyone!
Purvi managed my rehab following rotator cuff surgery. I chose her for the rehab after I learned that my shoulder surgeon went to her for his own physical therapy. Selecting Purvi turned out to be a great choice. When we started, I could not lift my arm 90 degrees. Now, after months of rehab with Purvi, I have full range of motion and am able to play golf again—which was one my objectives. Aside from her very capable technical skills, Purvi is personable and has an excellent bedside manner. It was a joy to work with her. I heartily recommend her to anyone needing physical therapy.
I have been seeing Purvi over a year for shoulder rotator cuff recovery. She is probably the best PT i have ever worked with. Very attentive and responsive and she is very experienced in dry-needle therapy which is a life saver. Highly recommend her!
Purvi is an outstanding physical therapist! She has helped me recover from various injuries over the years. Her technique, knowledge, personality and professionalism are all great. Would highly recommend.
It’s so nice to have a gym that I can visit on business trips. I enjoyed my time at this studio. Especially Coach Abbey who gave me the same attention and guidance as studio regulars. Great class, heading back today before I leave to head home.
I have been a member for years. The pool is excellent and the gym is great too.
Nice machines. Could use some fans on the cardio equipment. 🥵
I usually go to classes at the Orangetheory on Capitol Hill, but this location is near work so I stopped into a 4:15pm class on Wednesday. What I love about OTF is that each location is so on brand. It was the same experience I have at my home location from the friendly desk staff to the great instructors (shoutout to Abby!) to the music to the structure. The difference in this location is the space. It's bigger than the one on Capitol Hill (well, at least the set up makes it feel bigger).

If you love intense, but doable workouts, this one is for you!
Motivated instructors, small group size, personal attention. I love this place.
Nice, clean, no stress or bs.
Pool! Pool! Pool! A typical but larger hotel gym inside Hilton (open to the public too). If you are a swim person, you just can't afford to pass it up. they have a fabulous pool (don't be deceived by Vida Fitness/U St's facade & shills on Yelp, they're overpriced yet mediocre). 5 stars if they open till 11pm.

I found this place on a whim and I absolutely love it. Finally a place with friendly staff and classes for everyone. If you want no nonsense fun workouts that will push you then join here. You will not regret it.
Super friendly staff make this a great environment. The pool is excellent, even heated so it's open until end of October. Gym is shared between hotel guests and local members, but the cardio machines aren't full too often. An extra treadmill wouldn't hurt, but when I do have to wait it's not too long. All in all a great community.
Fantastic to discover a way to finally work out and being motivated. Across my street, there are always classes available; The studio is brand new, nice and clean. I enjoy so much having somebody to lead and coach.
Welcome in the neighborhood and definitely worth it !!!
