Great Coles, easy access, large, clean, and great range of products. Parking upstairs is horrendous, though. Not a very well designed carpark and traffic flow is a problem.

I usually shop on a Sunday its busy but service is ok .This week I had to shop on a Fri after work not one checkout was open when I asked was sent to 15 items or less with a trolley full awful experience Woolworths next week thanks Coles

I have never seen this level of customer service - it was truly atrocious.
I was served at 17:50 8/9/24.
- There was no greeting or any friendliness whatsoever.
- The only words that were uttered were "would you like a bag' in which my response fell on deaf ears as I was asked this question again.
- After the transaction was approved, the person then turned their back without saying a word.
I didn't think customer service like this was possible...
Since we now have a couple of Woolworths in the area, I will be avoiding Coles Mernda altogether in favour of Woolies.

They need to sort out their click and collect it’s an absolute joke how long you have to wait for your groceries. Shouldn’t have to sit in your car for 30 mins waiting. Whole point of click and collect is to save time on your shop but you wait so long you could do your shop 3 times over. Need more parking for it bays are always full.

I'm new to Doreen, from Eltham originally and went to Coles Mernda, I didn't grab a basket or trolley as I didn't plan on getting as much as I did. I asked a staff member Siaed where chicken stock was he not only told me he showed me where it was, he saw I had my hands full and asked if I would like a basket and went and got one for me and then held it while I put items in. It's rare to get such great customer service and I hope this store sees what an asset they have in Siaed I hope I spelt his name right and that management praise him for the great work he is doing. Having a basket of course I bought more. I will definitely be back. I did 4 out of 5 stars only because twice I haven't been able to get what I wanted in fruit and veg eg large butternut pumpkin and bean shoots but Siaed definitely gets a 5 out of 5.

Coles' Unfair Treatment of Small Producers: A Case of Gippsland Jersey
In a distressing turn of events, Coles, one of Australia's largest supermarket chains, has decided to remove Gippsland Jersey milk from most of its stores by the end of June. This decision not only impacts Gippsland Jersey, a small, high-quality milk producer, but also the numerous loyal customers who have come to depend on their exceptional products.
Gippsland Jersey has built a reputation for producing premium milk, distinguished by its quality and local roots. The news of their removal from Coles shelves is not just a blow to the company but to the entire community that supports and relies on their products. The removal announcement highlights a fundamental issue with how Coles, as a major retailer, interacts with and supports smaller brands.
Despite Gippsland Jersey’s efforts to comply with Coles' rigorous standards and targets, it appears that the supermarket's systems and processes are inherently biased against small producers. This reflects a broader problem in the retail industry where big businesses prioritise their profit margins and logistical convenience over supporting diverse, high-quality local producers. Such practices stifle competition, limit consumer choices, and undermine the economic stability of small businesses that are the backbone of our local economies.
The disappointing reality is that Coles' business model seems to favour large-scale operations, often at the expense of small, independent producers. This not only affects the variety and quality of products available to consumers but also threatens the livelihoods of those who run and work for these small businesses. Gippsland Jersey, known for its commitment to quality and community, now faces the daunting task of finding new retailers to stock their milk.
This move by Coles calls into question their commitment to supporting local and small-scale producers. It highlights a significant imbalance in the marketplace where the interests of large corporations overshadow those of smaller, quality-focused businesses. Consumers deserve better. They deserve access to a variety of products, including those from local and small producers who prioritise quality over quantity.
It is time for Coles to reconsider their approach and recognise the value that small producers like Gippsland Jersey bring to their stores and the broader community. Supporting small businesses is not just about meeting targets and ticking boxes; it is about fostering a diverse and vibrant market that benefits everyone. Until then, consumers must remain vigilant and vocal in their support for small, high-quality producers, ensuring their survival amidst a landscape increasingly dominated by large corporations.

I am inclined to say that Coles is a Monster . You eliminated manpower for customer checkout and rely more on machine.
I’m a night shopper and mostly at this store you have two blonde girls working. One always has an upset face and walking like a toddler. The other blonde with curly hair, she will ignore customer at the checkout with an excuse. I placed my groceries on the register and she was busy on the other side of express checkout. After a while she saw me and said, I will be a moment. Waited a minute and then proceeded to self checkout where the other blonde with upset face was in charge.
No greetings and no goodbye. The blank face. On the exit the curly hair blonde said have a good night. Really???
You should hire robots and not humans.
Pay your people well or hire more professional people. We the CUSTOMER makes you richer every minute by shopping. And we deserves a happy and connected relationship.
Learn from your rival who still have a lot of man power on register. You people are rude and machines with no feelings.

Nice and big, but their deli section (like most Woolworths) doesn't have as much variety of products.

Do not go to the toilets there

It's a busy place, supermarket car spaces are tight to get your children out/in to the car store staff are friendly. It's wheelchair friendly and elderly will find it a breath of fresh air

They locked the trolleys and sell you a token to use it!!! One staff said, Government asked them to do it, which is a lie. Since when you guys listen to the Government? Plus, why coles doesn't lock it? How pathetic it is that you making money off tokens for trolleys.

Super clean and organised. So much space and normally had everything. The staff are great.

My family have been Woolworths loyal since the days it was called Safeway. Now you've boycotted Australia Day. Want to be 'inclusive' do you? Well you've alienated 80% of the population, even if most won't express their disgust at your divisive abhorrent stance.
Go woke, go broke. We are shopping at Coles now.
I pay my respects to the pioneers who built this amazing country.

This is a an ok woolies. There is no network within the store - not just internet but for calls too which is really disappointing.
Also, I hardly ever find any of the assisted checkouts open anymore which is also extremely disappointing. The new woolies in Mernda town centre is perhaps a better choice.

The staff in the deli obviously can’t do anything better with their time than to stare and laugh and make customers uncomfortable. If you want to stand there and talk to your friend for half an hour instead of doing the job that you’re paid to do maybe consider quitting instead. This isn’t a one time occurrence every time I go in to woolies the deli staff look unfriendly and make you feel like an inconvenience when you’re just trying to do your groceries. It’s disgusting and unprofessional. Try doing some positivity training with your staff and teach them manners!!

Loved it. Big, airy, LOADS of stock. Easy parking. All good.

Woolworths there does not have a great range, lots of empty shelves, not easy to find items. Hoping this is a temp situation due to pandemic.
Edit: Second time there, bit more stock. I must say the staff there are lovely people.

Nice place to shop. Friendly staff

It's 9:39 on a Thursday morning and there are very few customers in the store. But the toast shelves are half empty and the one I want to buy for my daughter is completely gone. I don't believe everyone rushed in on their way to work and bought all of them before me.

Very friendly staff excellent smile when you ask for help they quick to show you where items are now wish they can fix the entrance to car park has been like this almost 4 years terrible specially in wet day
14 june 2022

Another Woolworths store full of fresh produce and a great selection of groceries.
Add fantastic service and ample carparking and you have a five star store.
