Would strongly recommend booking skybus to the city - it's convenient and comfortable 30mins travel once you arrive at Tullamarine.
We pre-booked this on Klook on a 2-way airport transfer prior arriving in the airport. Price of skybus at Klook is slightly cheaper. Just present the QR codes provided by Klook to the bus captain, it gets scanned and you are on your way.
There are baggage areas on the bus where you can keep your luggage. The bus fleet has both double decker or single deck bus. We tried both during our visit. It's great to sit in the front top deck for the view as the bus travel to southern cross station. Also, the skybus provided free WiFi operated by Vodafone. We didn't have to wait long for the bus as they scheduled buses every 10- 15mins.

They have service every 15 minutes between airport and Southern Cross station. They're a very good option in the absence of train connectivity from airport to the city.

Make the announcement maybe before the stop and people might know where they are and get off at the right stop. Rudest driver ever. Not helping older people with cases, if ya did it might be quicker

Skybus is the most convenient and reliable way to get from the airport to the city. Pre-booking tickets is an option that will save you a couple of dollars but you can just as easily walk out of the terminal and purchase. Tickets can be bought at one of several electronic terminals. A return ticket from Tullamarine to Melbourne terminal was $38.

Some of the seating is rather narrow for leg room so, if you have longer limbs prepare to sit on an angle or be squished for the duration. Buses are reasonably clean.

Highly recommend booking this shuttle - so convenient to just hop in once you arrive at Tullamarine. Would suggest pre-booking this on Klook as it was very convenient to just have this handy instead of heading to a spot booking booth. Professional, courteous, stacked away everyone's luggage for them which kept everything neat tidy and far less chance of damage to property. He took the time and care and it showed how much he loved his job. Esp at Christmas it's the little things, and an asset to this business. Keep up the great work connecting everyone, everyday! It was actually surprisingly amazing the staff were very helpful and understanding after we were very confused. It was very hot in the bus and stuffy/full but otherwise a long but ok journey and a lot cheaper than an Uber or taxi.
They don’t accept cash. 🥲

Bus is good but service is pathetic.
Jung was at the service station and she was really rude.
We were at the gate and driver wanted to take us but she said gate is closed. It’s not a flight to be exact the second.
We used to enjoy this service with lovely drivers and admins but now the quality of service is really lowering. Thanks for reading and if you plan to travel prepare.

Unbearably hot on the top deck and deafeningly loud driver loudspeaker. Excessively militant ‘computer says no’ approach to queue management that cost me the chance to get to a meeting on time after a delayed flight. You want to do the right thing for the environment and use the bus rather than taxi but they make it pretty difficult for you sometimes.
Kim at the station is very rude and unprofessional. We tried to ask for help regarding our payment system and she was very unfriendly. Also, we asked if we could board the next bus because the oncoming bus was full, but she was very rude about it and asked us to take the long way of the lane, while the white woman behind us just got her ticket scanned (we’re Koreans). Very very rude and racist and would not recommend this to other customers. What a way to start my Melbourne trip…
I had a terrible experience with Kim at the station. Her attitude was so rude and responsed in very rude way when I asked her. I would never ride this bus at this station. I recommend to ride at other stations. So disappointed that this is my first memory of Melbourne...
Really disappointing service from uncaring driver. Arrived right on time at 10:29pm with 3 other passengers, by the time we wound our way through the maze, the driver clearly watching us, he closed the door and drove away at exactly 10:30pm. It was 6 degrees C outside. Can’t wait for the rail link to be built….
this bus is very expensive, save money and walk past t4 and take the 901 public bus to broadmeadwos railway station -then you can take a suburban train to the city or connect for other buses. you can download the ptv app and pay with your phone with NFC. skybus has engaged in very anti-competitve behaviour and when they tried to install the 901 public bus the skybus did not allow the bus stop to be located out the front of the airport. This company has also slowed down the construction of a train link to the airport. This keeps Melbourne stuck in last century public transport and encourages car dependence. The carpark at the airport is bigger than inner city suburbs. BOYCOTT this company, save money and take the 901 public bus!

Sky bus is fine if you are one person, but why do you take up all the space so people have to walk so far to the taxi rank of they are family with many bags? Melbourne airport needs to look after customers better
