My meal on this day was probably my most memorable from my weeks long trip. Highly recommended!!

Now I finally understand the appeal of this place and other bary mleczne. You're almost guaranteed to wait in a queue, but it's truly worth the wait.
The food is really delicious and the prices are unbelievable. If you want to try authentic Polish cuisine, do visit this place or similar, as opposed to the fancy overpriced restaurants in the Old Town.
Be aware that many dishes tend to sell out quickly, particularly during lunchtime.

Oh, and another thing for fellow tourists: please don't sit and chat for ages after having finished your meal, especially at peak hours. When I was there, the place was packed, there was a long queue and a pair of foreigners (I think they were exchange students there), were just chatting at the table with their plates empty for the entirety of my stay there while people were waiting for empty tables.

Just as some reviewers said, they seem to close earlier than posted. They are supposed to close at 8pm. We were there at 7 and half the tables have their chairs up already. Not only that, most of the food were gone, no pierogi at all. They only covered the price with blank paper for those items no longer available. Lots of locals, it’s more like a canteen, self serve, customers eat and leave. With all that being said, their staff were friendly, the food was great, very affordable prices. We had soup and pork chops

Stark clean interior seating is good for milk bar, individual and small tables. I went at a quiet time but was confusing you place an order then hand receipt to kitchen and then listen out ,modern day equivalent is the vibration discs. I think at busy times it would be overwhelming if multiple people ordered same thing.

And goodness... what a eclectic variety of customers...

The symbol on Google maps (cocktail glass) denotes Bar and not cutlery to indicate it's a (milk)restaurant so may be overlooked by some.

Staff seem pleasant and industrious,
no English and no attempt to accommodate but not in a rude way, staff are decent in mannerisms

My only complaint was my potato pancake was literally soaked in oil, I couldn't even finish it it was basically a sponge. Besides that the atmosphere, flavor and easy ordering was good. Maybe get something else that won't be like drinking oil

Food is decent, doesn't all come out hot. But it is mostly delicious. The place... other than the food trays.. is pretty clean also. They do close earlier than they say they close and also start putting the chairs on tables and closing up when people are still there and eating and before they close. It is different than what most westerners are used to so worth it to go to a milk bar like this... but go early before they start running out of dishes. Also it's cheap.

Place is really crowded during lunch time. You need to wait in line. The value for money is ok. There is no English menu, and staff does not speak English, and we were picking food randomly. It’s very smelly inside.

Really nice place. Local food at a good price. I had 2 dishes and a fresh drink for 29.50PNL, around 6.50EUR. It took some time to get ready, but it was alright.

The seats outside are just perfect. However, in a crowded moment, it might be a bit hard to eat.

Everything was as expected. Not very big portions, amazing prices. Self-service. Keep in mind that people working on the kitchen do not speak English, so be alert for when your food is prepared.

Lots of options to have, was pretty busy, queue outside, value for money is brilliant.

Excellent place to try polish food. It's a canteen, so the food is simple but feels like traditional home cooking. The price is amazing, we got 3 vegetarian dishes and a side for £10. The kiosk screen also has an English setting.

Only downside is that we were too full from the main food so we couldn't order some pancakes for dessert.

You can tell this place is loved by locals. It’s crowded all the time! Food is delicious and cheap. If you visit Warsaw, mleczny bar is a must go to taste local kitchen. This place is the one you should go to.

A traditional bar mleczny- one perfect to try traditional polish cuisine at a low price. There were many locals and quite a long queue when I went but it was evident why. I paid 27zł for chicken and pierogi ruskie. The chicken was seasoned so well and cooked to perfection. The pierogi were decent - they weren’t amazing but they did the job. If you’re looking to come for just pierogi, then I wouldn’t recommend. The other meals are quite good - many locals take soups and pancakes. The service was quick and nice.

Owners do not speak English but they are very helpful in helping tourists in ordering. Very delicious and big portion of local polish food. The shop is not very big but comforting enough. I definitely recommend this place to tourists. My pork cutlet with 3 side dishes and mash potatoes is 23PLN. So worth it.

Almost every week i have a pleasure dining in Polny Bar Mleczny and every single experience is truly exceptional. 🌸The cuisine is nothing short of a culinary enlightenment, with each pieróg being being both extraordinarily delectable and aesthetically appealing. 🥟 i would highly recommend pierogi ruskie, owing to the fact that they’re probably the best ones i’ve ever had the pleasure of savoring. 😋

In fact the unusually diverse dining is not the only thing i profoundly admire about this place. 🤓☝️ because what would it be like without all the individuals devoting their time as well as their hearts to take part in this casual yet mesmerising feast. 🍽️ It’s quite common for me to spot familiar faces at this restaurant, as it’s a popular location among the highschool students of warsaw (but not only).👫

One of the best milky bars in Warsaw! Can’t recommend it enough. There’s always a line and that’s a sign. Well priced and great variety.

The people are friendly and if you are in for budget meals and not too picky this is your place. I had the Ukrainian Borsch and the potatoes pancakes. A real life saver for my last day in town

I paid 18 Zloty for a set meal below. Food was alright, nothing too fancy. This is affordable considering it is in the old town. The environment was nice in fact. Modern and clean. There is an English menu. Ask the cashier for it.

The food tasted like my grandmother’s food. I had a tomato soup and sweet dumplings, great value for the price (3,5 for everything). Very local place, the menu is in Polish. Definitely recommend it!

For the first time traveler to Warsaw, this is a wonderful budget option. Traditional Polish Canteen style food. Really good and for both portions of food with a drink each, was just shy of 5 pounds. Excellent value for money.

The place looks really nice and cozy, but the people who work's there are extremely rude.
First of all, you have a menu on the wall, and half of the items are not available. Also, half of them are covered with white paper. If you don't have this item anymore the remove that from the board. They ladies who give the food are extremely rude. They give a feeling like they hate the costumers there and why you even came to eat and bother them. I don't know about lunch food, but breakfast food is definitely "no thanks." We ordered an omelet, and this was not even close to an omelet. Also, we got pierogies, and they were cold, and stuffing was extremely salty. Overall experience was bad for all of us. I will not recommend this place for any people who visit beautiful Warsaw. If you want to try really good polish food, it's not here.

I really liked the interior, it was light and fresh. We took schnitzel with potatoes and ukranian borscht. The borscht was not exactly ukranian but it was pretty good. Portions are really big. The schnitzel was also tasty. I enjoyed my meal in general

Polish flavor, very tasty food, cheapest check, big portions. Of the minuses - it's hard to remember what you want, so you have to stand and memorize. Dangerous people - they may ask you to buy them something or change while you're standing in line. It's also very crowded in the hall, but I love the place for the food and the flavor. Cheers.

Tasty polish food with very affordable prices. It is in old town, so easily reachable. A bit challenging to order at the counter because the lady there does not speak english, but she was trying her best to help us :)

Recommended to me by a local, I enjoyed my experience here. It's a traditional, simple kind of eatery. The prices are fine and the atmosphere is quaint and authentic. I'll go back again next time I am in Warsaw.

A classic polish diner "bar mleczny" offering traditional polish cuisine at very affordable prices. The place itself is very well kept and the food is pretty good. Do take note that it tends to get crowded in peak lunch hours so you might have to wait a while to place an order.

If you want to eat traditional polish food and spend very little money, this is the perfect place. It's obviously different than a normal restaurant but the food is delicious and definitely worth it. As a tourist I feel like I have to give 4 stars instead of 5 because there's no english translation for the food and nobody speaks english there, therefore the only way to understand anything is to use google translate and watch as the food comes out of the kitchen.

Milk bar - Really good traditional polish food at extremely reasonable prices! Loved the flacki (beef tripe soup) although it was a little salty. The veal schnitzel was good too! In general, portions are on the smaller side but for the price paid it is still value for money. Importantly, all of the items were picked were delicious and homey. They also have an English menu (ask for it at the counter).

Pro-tip: after ordering, the cashier will pass you an order sheet receipt to be passed to the kitchen. Kitchen staff are not English speaking - so just keep an eye for when your food is ready by remembering what you ordered.

First thing that come to my mind is value for money. Meals are cheap and portions are not so big, but everything is fresh and tasty. There is no service and you have to do a bit more, but in the same time you can seat next to someone cool and famous. This place is with typical Polish food and for everyone. Keeps the spirit of old times.
