Too anyone thinking of going with the gang at Apache Charters. I highly recommend it to everyone. The boat is a beast, the cooking is exceptional, the deckee is all over it, the captain certainly knows what he is doing. We went up to the montees probably on the wrong moon phase, the wrong time of the year and had very challenging weather and swells but the guys went hard, above and beyond, made it a very memorable trip in deed. You never stopped trying and we came home with the goods and some awesome memories in the end Thanking you APACHE CHARTERS. Will be planning another with you very soon. 😁🙏💜.

Have been trying to book a fishing charter for a few weeks now , called multiple times , sent messages , sent emails.
Either business is not operating or they just don't want to respond.
Won't be giving them my money.

Went to the Monties with these guys and just WOW! Amazing fishing! All 12 of us bagged out with a huge mixed range of fillets. Food and service were spot on, and I was even more impressed with the ability to change up plans to avoid a bit of bad weather but still maximizing fishing time. Will be going back with these guys again for sure!

Fantastic half day charter with Shikari Charters. Allan provides a professional service with a friendly atmosphere. Top notch gear, and expert guidance if you are keen on experimenting with various artificial lures. Absolute monster fish landed on the day, bagged out within the first couple of hours. Would highly recommend.

Fishing is such great fun but not with Alan on the boat. He has not yet developed the skill of communicating with other humans or showing them any respect. Probably the worst person I have ever met. After 4 text messages he still wouldn't tell me where the charter leaves from. Do not waste your time or money unless you want to be treated like an animal. He told me to bring 6-8 people but when we arrived with 8 he said it is the most he has ever taken. He also questions you if you have any beer in your bags - trust me, you will need more than beer to cope with a him for a day. I would not suggest you allow small children or women to be withing 10km of him. NEVER EVER USE THIS CHARTER. All other 1 star reviews are totally correct and I should have trusted them before we left. PS: Best of luck Alan and please see your doctor for some happy pills 💊 😀

Useless charter, don’t bother. We tried to confirm a fishing charter for our honeymoon months in advance, then weekend before we were told it’d be fine and that it was a “gentleman’s agreement” and it’d be sorted closer to the date dependent on weather. We were fine with this as obviously situations for fishing offshore change with weather.
My husband and I both love fishing offshore, we flew over from Sydney and for the three weeks that we were here, this clown didn’t answer his phone. Tried to confirm a day numerous times and heard nothing. Don’t waste your time or money on this goose.

Did a Shark Bay Charter and enjoyed it thoroughly. Can't speak highly enough of Mat and the crew. Excellent food and heaps of fish! Been with quite a few other charter companies at Abrolhos and Monties, but Apache seem to tick all the boxes.
Tried booking a half day charter for 2 boys. Called with no answer, sent an enquiry online with no answer and when I sent through a text I received an angry call back by Alan who was arrogant, obnoxious and said he was too busy to get back to me. I simply asked if they were still in business since it had been almost 2 days with no response. Clearly has no idea how to run a business or show any respect to a potential customer. Here is a helpful tip - when someone is trying to purchase the service you provide you call them back and say “My apologies for taking so long to get back to you, how can I help you?” Not “YOU ONLY SENT THE EMAIL YESTERDAY AND I’VE BEEN BUSY”. Didn’t even state who he was when he called, just went straight to abuse. As a business owner myself, absolute disgraceful behaviour!
Had a brilliant day out Epic Adventures - wonderful guide, who taught us so much and was as excited as we were when the fish began to bite! Highly recommend!

Came over from Melbourne for a holiday...Allan said we were on for fishing... alas when I arrived in Perth the was a massive lack of communication as I was relying on this fishing trip.
Had to go cap in hand to another charter but as it turned out it was a great day.
Allan only got back to me when it was too late. Book with other charters!!!!
This is a summary in response to the 3 reviews posted by Mr Paul Lange, Matt Hall and James O'Kane . Had to post separately due to word limit. With any planned fishing trip there is always an air of expectancy, this is not a new phenomenon. For some it’s just the pleasure of others company in a different environment, having a fish and if they catch something it’s a bonus ( almost every charter has this component to it ) and seeing people enjoying themselves whilst on board is what we aim for.
Some have an air of expectancy so high, you would need to re write the record books for the outing to be deemed a good one, it’s just human nature. The problem is that when the lofty expectation doesn’t get reached incidental things tend to become real big issues to that individual to the point that the person then feels the need to lay blame for the perceived situation, if alcohol is involved it seems to magnify these emotions.
We have no issue with people having a drink but I think we all know it effects different people in different ways. Me, I love beer.
The more seasoned fishers tend to go out with the attitude of knowing a number of catches is possible, hope the fishing gods shine on them on the day but have a very clear understanding that there are no guarantees in fishing.
I love getting out on the water, the ocean is wonderful place, but there are times when she will not give up some of her bounty easily. It is very fair to say that the fishing was a bit quiet on the day of the charter, this is exactly when having a chap at the helm who has a wealth of experience and knowledge becomes a real advantage and this expertise did come to the fore. It cannot be disputed that quality fish were caught including those, in what is accepted as the most highly sort after of all in this part of the world. So kudos to those who fished, you caught well !
The skippers thanks (from a few) for this was to be thrown under the Bus
Of the 45 fish caught that were of the species that are required to be recorded, no less than 6 were the fabled WA Dhufish, seeing 6 of these in one session in Perth Metro waters is not a common occurrence. What was extremely disappointing was that not 1 met the legal size requirement to be kept which you would have to say was downright unlucky, an ounce of luck the other way and 2 or 3 10kg fish may have been decked. Some beautiful Breaksea Cod (aka black arse, tiger cod ) were taken and Mr O’Kanes fish of 430mm was a really solid example of this species. To put it into context, this species grows to a maximum length of 550mm so it was a notable capture. Fox fish are always welcomed aboard and a nice Baldchin surfaced. From memory, there was a couple of solid looking hook ups dropped but that happens.
I’d like to think that most of the party had a good day.
35yrs of fishing charters in Perth and these guys hands down are the worst charter i have ever experienced. Rods with broken tips, tiny hooks, rationed bait the size of 10c pieces. NO ICE on board...What is that about??? No ice for the two or three tiny fish that were caught let alone drinks. No cooler box. No chairs. No Shade. We were told that the boat had a workable BBQ...what a joke, it was a garbage, road-side bbq that was broken more ways than not. The bait situation was so bad that we were trying to catch our own bait fish so we could have half a chance, i overheard the captain tell his decky (if they want to use those Rass fish as bait then they can cut and fillet them themselves...??? I could go on and on...But ill summarize for you: After several hours most of us were ready to turn back to shore and call it a day and we are all keen fisherman. Worst fishing charter ever...
Not a great day no ice or esky supplied to keep fish cold plus the bait was old and cut to small for the type of fish we were targeting.
Old rods and reels provided were from 1970 I reckon.
Great day out with Fishing boat charters, recommend

Highly recommend you DO NOT give your money to Shikari Charters. The host is incredibly rude, unfriendly and self-centred. The host absolutely berated people on the boat for being inexperienced, unsure of what to do and unsure of how to ‘act’ on a boat and out at sea (being unbalanced, how to bring a large fish in ect.) Shikari Charters are highly unprofessional, are not insured and therefore are a liability to your health and well being, and will throw threats out to people who challenge the skippers unprofessional manner. Please do not waste your time on this disgusting business.
Brilliant Charter day out with the lads.
Recommend Fremantle Boat Charters Fremantle Fishing Charter; we had an amazing day out for end of year workdo. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charter in and around Perth, Fremantle.

Montebello Islands Fishing Charter.
If you are looking for a “bucket list” fishing trip, then I cannot recommend enough, Apache Charters and their “live aboard 6 night charter” to the Montebello Islands, leaving from either Onslow or Exmouth.
Their huge 65ft vessel “Lady Grace” is perfectly kitted out for an extended charter with several sleeping areas / bunks on deck, with more bunks on the flybridge and cabins below deck with ample room to spare for a group of 10-12 people along with the 3-man crew.
Male and female toilets / showers with plenty of hot water allow for a clean-up every night after a hard day reeling in fish.
Coral Trout, Spangled Emperor, Blue Bone (Tuskfish), Red Emperor, Long Nose Emperor, Spanish Mackerel, Rankin Cod, various Reds and the occasional Sailfish / Tuna are all on offer as well as a few surprises at some of the drops.
With the added bonus of seeing lots of Whales breaching, Dolphins, Sea Snakes, Turtles, Sharks and awesome scenery, this is a truly amazing trip.
On a day off from fishing (weather dependent and to give the arms a rest) we did some sight-seeing, snorkelling, swimming in the perfectly clear, sheltered bays and view the interesting history of the “Monties” using the large tender.
We relaxed at night catching a few squid behind the boat while enjoying an ice cold beer and feasting on the freshest seafood tucker you can get. Take your own playlist on your phone / thumb drive if you wish.
The fresh air and physical workout from the fishing ensures sleeping isn’t too difficult.
The crew of Matt (Skipper), Mark (5 Star Chef / Deckie) and “Nice One” Gary (Super Deckie) ensured the trip was safe, enjoyable, interesting, informative and last but no means least, about catching (and eating) fish.
Perfect!
Thanks again to Matt, Mark and Gary.

I had the pleasure of joining Matt, Jack, and Mark on a recent trip to Montebellos islands after experience with the charter group in Fremantle and the Abrolhos islands.
My high hopes were not disappointed, and the trip lived up to nearly every expectation I had, with the only exception being the windy weather- the only thing out of anyone's hands.
To his credit, Matt was quick to come up with other options for the days when the wind was up which kept us all happy and amused while keeping safety a priority. He put us on the fish, and worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed their time and their catch, which was always handled quickly and professionally by the crew.
Jack did an excellent job with all things deck related, and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things fishing, jigging, trolling and knots. Nothing was too much effort and he happily helped us all out with whatever was needed.
Mark kept us all well fed and a little spoiled in my opinion, with no shortage of delicious meals each morning, noon, and night, along with sashimi, pickled fish dishes and platters each day during "happy hour".
Along with the guys on the boat, Michelle in the office is an absolute credit to the team and deserves a special mention. Booking was easy, no fuss and a she is pleasure to deal with. Michelle also assisted with a few special requests along with transfers which made everything so much easier.
I have no hesitation in recommending these guys to anyone who wants a fantastic all around experience. Thanks guys, great job!

Perfect day for fishing leaving from Fremantle unfortunately that's as good as it got. Spent more time travelling from spot to spot looking for fish than we did fishing and when we did find a spot where the fish were biting and where most of the 8 fish were caught between 13 people (3 of those by one fisho) the skipper Phil decided that was not good and up we up rods again and moved on to another spot where the fish were not biting.

Highlight of the day was the service from the deckhand and his hamburgers!

I would not recommend this fishing charter out of Fremantle to anyone. They maybe better at it when they travel north.
