Life changing experience!! I have been going to Indigo for the past 7 years and they have made a tremendous positive impact on my health. Their in-depth look at your entire health and body was like nothing I had ever experienced and I have achieved life changing results from their care. I am forever grateful for their expertise and care!! I've referred a number of people to their practice--all of which have seen lasting and significant improvements in their health. I cannot say enough positive things about this practice--thank you!

I recently visited Indigo Integrative Health Clinic for the first time and I am so impressed with their level of care and attention to detail. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and made to feel welcome. The clinic is beautifully designed with a calming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease.
The staff at Indigo Integrative Health Clinic are knowledgeable and professional, and they truly care about their patients. They took the time to listen to my concerns and provided me with a personalized treatment plan that addressed all of my needs. I was impressed with the wide range of services they offer, and the expertise of their practitioners.
Overall, my experience at Indigo Integrative Health Clinic was exceptional, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch healthcare. Their commitment to holistic healing, combined with their warm and welcoming environment, makes them stand out from the rest. Thank you, Indigo Integrative Health Clinic, for providing such outstanding care!

What a blessing to have such talented and passionate women available in our community. Indigo Integrative is offering a unique and effective service and I’m so glad I found them! Both Dr. Izzy and NP Snejana are a wealth of deep knowledge and I am truly grateful to them for supporting me on my health journey. Beautiful environment, balanced with personal and professional, but mostly if you follow their guidance, it works! Thank you to the whole team.

Indigo is what healthcare should look like. I have been seeing Dr. Snejana Sharkar since November of 2022 for breast cancer. I wish I had found Dr. Sharkar and the Indigo team at the start of my cancer healing journey.
Indigo uses a variety of conventional and alternative/integrative assessments and interventions to treat a variety of health issues. I’ve been to a major integrative cancer center and Indigo is on par, if not above, some of the capabilities of those types of centers.
Through use of the RGCC test and other specialized tests, we were able to come up with an individualized plan to not only target the breast cancer cells, but the many other root issues compromising my immune system. Dr. Sharkar has healed my gut and boosted my immune system so that it’s stronger than ever. I am so grateful to be eating and doing the things I couldn’t do before.
As part of my treatment plan, I received low dose chemo/IPT. It is rare to find this type of targeted cancer treatment and a doctor who has years and years of experience with it. The outcomes of retesting have shown progress and I feel better than I ever have. I am grateful for no awful side effects that typically come along with chemotherapy treatment.
Dr. Snejana Sharkar listens and genuinely wants to understand your struggles. She meets you where you are at while reassuring you that there are always options. She understands both the conventional medicine and alternative/functional medicine worlds and effectively creates treatment plans reflecting benefits of both worlds. Throughout my cancer journey she has talked me off the ledge many times and has kept me focused on the plan!
Sarah is on top of everything! She is always there to assist in whatever is needed and responds right away. She has helped me with figuring out the best financial options for certain tests and treatments. She and Dr. Isabel have also been a huge support during some of my lowest of low points. It’s comforting to have a doctor’s office so invested in your needs, personal beliefs/values, outcomes and overall health.
When you are a patient of Indigo, you are treated like family. Everyone from Dr. Snejana Sharkar, Dr. Isabel, Sarah, Carl, treat you with the care all patients deserve. This is why I have brought and referred my family and friends to them.
Whether you are healing from cancer or have a condition that no other doctor can give you answers for, I HIGHLY recommend scheduling a consult. Your health is worth the investment of a finding a team of real health professionals who are dedicated to the journey of true healing.

So far I have the best service from all of the Indigo Integrative Health Clinic staffs. I have never seen such a doctor who is focusing on identifying the root cause and working on to resolve each issue by prioritizing them. This is the first time I saw a professional doctor who tries to work on the root cause of the pain. Super happy so far!

I am a young woman of color in a rigorous doctorate program. My days can be intensely filled with work and reading. By the time I met Dr. Snejana Sharkar, I was completely frustrated and fed up with conventional Western medicine. During my time with conventional/traditional doctors, my feelings around my body were not taken seriously, my concerns were dismissed and too often I was quickly told the solution was some sort of pharmaceutical. When I finally found Dr. Sharkar, I wanted real care. I wanted the sort of care that was intentional, compassionate and deeply personal. And oh my goodness, this is exactly what I received! Dr. Sharkar is one of the most knowledgeable people I know. I did not grow up receiving the level of medical and primary care that she provides. She is not only attentive, but has a brilliant understanding of health, and what approaches will best heal her patients. At Indigo Integrative Health Clinic, they listen and think holistically about your health(mind, body and spirit). After I completed a test that revealed I was dealing with adrenal fatigue, Dr. Sharkar immediately placed me on a healing protocol. She provided me with the knowledge of the lifestyle habits I needed to adopt in order to heal, and she prescribed me the absolute best vitamins, minerals, and adaptogens that helped me heal( The Indigo Formulations are amazing!). A year later, I am truly beginning to feel so much better. Dr. Sharkar and the entire team at Indigo Integrative Health Clinic are 100% percent committed to providing the level of care that many of us in the United States are probably not used to. They are not going to dismiss you or your concerns for your entire body. Every member of the office is kind and thoughtful. And most of all, they actually listen! Dr. Sharkar is not going to spend 15 minutes with you and then kick you out. You are going to receive amazing comprehensive care. Care that actually has serious results. The difference I am feeling in my body from a year ago is such a gratifying experience. There has been such a transformative change in my functionality. Thank you so much Dr. Sharkar! Thank you Sarah!! And thank you Dr. Isabel Sharkar for your consistent kindness!

Indigo Health Clinic is an great place to restore and replenish your body, mind and soul. Ms. Snejna is a great practitioner. It took me years to find a medical provider that took time to listen, be active in my health concerns and provide me the right tools to empower and restore back to health and full potential. Thank you, Indigo Staff.

They keep putting people with the worst behavioral issues in nice communities with working individuals and families. I'm all for community integration but these clients have co dependent disorders. Behavioral issues and substance abuse. They need to house these people in their own facilities instead of community. I'm sure they management are substance users too.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Indigo team. I have been with them for about 7 months now. I cannot remember the last time that my body felt this healthy and balanced. I arrived at Indigo with several autoimmune flares and several prescription medicines that I no longer wanted to be on. I felt like the more I tried to get off these medicines because of the side effects, the more medicines were prescribed to me.
Dr. Sharkar genuinely listened to all my concerns and dug into every corner of my health history that she found relevant. After several tests, we found what was causing my worst symptoms. With some months of work and commitment we were able to help me reach my goals.
I will concede that this was more costly than a regular doctor, but I do fear the path that my health was headed down before I found Dr. Sharkar. Also, the team, shout out especially to Sarah, is very helpful and responsive when it comes to filling out forms and providing the information needed for some insurance coverage. I was able to get visits and supplements covered by my FSA with Sarah’s help.
I have worked with other functional health/naturopath doctors before and can say that none compare to Indigo Health’s organization, attention to detail, and overall care. My OBGYN was so impressed with my progress that she requested Dr. Sharkar’s information. I have preached to anyone that will hear me about Indigo Clinic and about this line of medical care. At the end of the day this is an investment into your future and longevity. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Terrible scientology like, incompetent, outdated approach, psychiatrist self observed idiots with no comments sense, they literally run people's lives and destroy their clients lives by suggesting them to get addicted to meds that have been proven to not have no medical affect on mental conditions like depression, bipolar, etc. Evil brainwashing sect that only wants to make money of their victims aka patients. Please don't go there save yourself from those monsters. Exercise, walk , run calisthenics, joga, taichi etc, read proof read academic phycologicy literature. Reach out to a real therapist stay away from those devils, they want you to fail by pushing their medical outdated bs, so they can use you as a statist to get more funds.

This program has a lot of unprofessional, unorganized group of case workers who do not stand on what they say when it comes to meeting the client's housing needs. I would not recommend this program even to another black person coming from another state fr 💯

Had I knew years ago. I would not have came to this program. My family has experience so many traumas and Community connections have not been a support. I've asked for and emergency move in April and its now December. There is not therapy for my kids and I. And no real case management. Be careful when housing give you a project based vocher smh

I have been trying to reach Community Connections for weeks now in relation to a product. I've left messages on various voicemails, the central voicemail service, I've left emails to a number of employees, and I've tried to be routed through the operator to no avail (I can never get through to the operator, billing, or any other service). I finally ordered the product without getting in touch with anyone, and now I can't get a hold of them to discuss my order. This has been, by far, the most frustrating experience I have ever had in ordering a clinical product from any distributor.

This is a GREAT organization doing GREAT things for so many people and other organizations. I am so proud to now be a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor thanks to the National Council.

Great organization with a great team.

One of their employees who was hired in February 2022 posting some pretty questionable things on social media. I wouldn't want someone who is writing the things they are on social media helping to guide my mental health. They need to do better.

I've had the opportunity to work as an office coordinator for the CSA.

I don't know who I was just speaking to, but the woman just told me Geico was calling her since she'd been in a car accident, and asked me to call her back in 30 minutes. I've done hotline training and would never do something like that. Literally everyone I've asked for help today hasn't been able to help me. I was stressed before, and I feel even worse after calling NAMI.

This organization reeks of fraud. They are stealing from clients. All these reviews with five stars are from employees and clients that got gift cards for making a five star review. DC needs to investigate ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This place needs an audit done. If an audit was to be done they would no longer exist!!!!!!!!! If you are thinking about donating to this organization- don’t do it! If you are thinking about working for them- don’t do it. Seriously- do not affiliate yourself with this organization at all! The supervisors and directors change the notes at the end of the month to reflect services rendered just to meet billing so they can get money! This is a janky organization with supervisors and directors who are committing fraud and stealing from clients!!!!!

This was the WORST experience with a mental health provider I've ever had. I was relieved to find a clinic that took Medicaid because I was desperately in need of a psychiatrist for ongoing medication management. When I started with the nurse practitioner, things were going well and I really thought we connected and that she wasn't just another pill-pusher. However, no one told me that she was only available Thursdays and Fridays (not even full days most of the time) and that there was NO back up support at all for emergencies. I was hospitalized and could not get anyone there to help me-- the doctors at GW and I called her and the clinic several times over several days. No one escalated my request even though it was clearly an emergency. No one was able to support me and so I had to wait until she was back "online" nearly a week later. Both the nurse and clinic were defensive and offered weak apologies. Furthermore, the nurse was extremely rude in our final call and acted like we had not previously talked about refilling the meds that I was put on in the hospital-- in fact, she had never offered any good solutions in the 5+ weeks I worked with her besides putting me on yet another Rx that did nothing (I had made it clear that I was very unhappy with being on so many meds to begin with, that weren't doing a good job managing my bipolar II disorder). I understand how much pressure mental health services are under, especially during COVID. But this experience made my anxiety and stress so much worse, and Community Connections should be held accountable for their extremely poor level of care. If you can possibly avoid them, do so.

Small Landlords: DO NOT work with this organization. It’s likely they will provide you with a tenant that isn’t able to properly take care of your property or themselves, commits multiple lease violations, and harasses the community. They are only responsible for placing the individual in a home and WILL NOT find alternate living accommodations for the tenant unless the tenant is evicted. This is counterproductive of one of their goals, which is to prevent homelessness. Although they do provide mental health services, the tenant can decline and you will be left to deal with the fallback; in our case an unruly tenant with MULTIPLE VISITS FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. I can only speak on our encounters, but working with Community Connections has been a nightmare.

My sister, a patient of Dr. Bangura, was experiencing a higher level of anxiety than usual the past couple of months. During a recent visit, she shared what was currently going on in her life with the doctor.
Afterwards, Dr. Bangura not only helped my sister understand the probable cause of her elevated feelings of anxiety, she offered resources and advice, etc. that could be helpful for my sister to use to help work out some of the sources of the extra stress.
Yesterday my sister shared with me a couple of extraordinary suggestions from Dr. Bangura, and I was so happy to hear the relief in her voice. Also, the information was priceless and right on point!
Dr. Bandura is the best doctor in her field! She is a true gift sent to help others - not just give them drugs, and/or medication. That is caring, and love - I'm sure this is what all doctors aspire to be to & for their patients.
Thank God for Dr. Bangura!

I am currently a tenant at 4715 Texas Ave Se apt buildings. Community Connection’s has been steady declining in their housing department, when I first moved in to this apartment building 6 years ago they had more people that cared about the building up keep and the tenants concerns, but now they seem not to care about who moves in to the buildings or maintenance issues. Last week I contacted Community Connection Housing department because my refrigerator wasn’t working and making a beeping sound, they had me wait all the way till Tuesday of this week to send the repairman out to check the status of my fridge, which was a waste of time when they had the resident manager of my apartment to check my fridge while he talked to them on the phone and let them know that the fridge was inoperable. The repairman was very unprofessional all he did was take a look in the fridge and then left , he did nothing to fix the problem. So once again I have contacted the housing department to inform them that my fridge is still not working and they tell me that the repairman can’t come out until Saturday afternoon, mind you today is Thursday. When I complained that my food was going to go bad , they told me that I could leave my food in the fridge that is located in the community room, when I didn’t agree with that they tried to threaten the fact that if my food did go bad that they would not be held responsible to replace my food or compensate me for my food because they propositioned me with that offer to leave my food in the community room, to which I would only have access to when the resident manager is home!! I find this very degrading that they think that this is reasonable! I told them that I will be contacting my lawyer and that I will be informing my lawyer of their actions. I refuse to talk to them anymore and any problems that I have I will be having my lawyer contact them with any further issues or complaints that I may have concerning their incompetent behavior. I am done with their lack of concern for my maintenance issues..

THE DOCTOR ASK ME WHAT WAS WRONG HOW CAN SHE HELP ME I STARTED EXPLAINING WHAT I HAD GOING ON AND HOW THEY WASN'T HELPING ME AND STARTED CRYING THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO GET OUT OF HER OFFICE I WAS CRYING. FOR 2 WEEKS I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE. I WANT TO SUE THEM BECAUSE IT WASN'T RIGHT AND NO ONE CALLED MY PHONE TO SEE IF I WAS OKAY

I miss AUTUMN (case manager) and Dr. Moghimi (psychiatrist)! They truly saved my life! 💜💜💜

Great Place! Steve Luteran is a God Send and amazing, will work and help you 24/hours as will the rest of the staff. Highly recommend. They care!

Nice people

Dealing with mental health challenges is always difficult. But one key to that is knowing you are not alone. NAMI's group sessions (on Wednesday night, 7-9 as of this review) provide people a place to go and find community both for those struggling with mental health challenges and their families. Extremely worthwhile, and difficult work.
My sense is the other reviews here relate to the fact that anger, disaffection, and loneliness are themselves mental health challenges, and ones that may lead people to post overly negative reviews. NAMI is doing difficult and worthwhile work here.

I was informed that I started working for the agency during a “bad time” due to the amount of changes that were going on internally that didn’t work out. The executive director is very condescending and has no respect nor appreciates his employees. In my years of working I’ve never experienced someone saying “I thought I made myself clear” and that you’ll be fired for not signing a document you didn’t agree with. Without having a direct supervisor the clinical director oversaw two teams but wasn’t readily available to address the ongoing needs the two teams faced. I was poorly trained, constantly told one thing by one person and something else by another. The agency likes for you to believe you have people to talk to to address your concerns but when you do everything gets flipped on you about what youre not doing right. Never taking into consideration how they play a part into that. They want people to blame, so they blame the community support workers instead of looking at the agency as whole. No one from upper management on down is doing what their supposed to be doing so everyone should be held accountable. I wish I could say I learned something from working here but I didn’t. Fair warning, be expected to be thrown into the work without any guidance and being the blame for not reaching clients who don’t want to be reached. You’ll find yourself almost forcing services on people who don’t want or need them.

The other reviewers have got it. ABUSIVE VILE BARBARIC practices ALL endorsed by this bunch of thugs and phonies. Better off just going to the police and telling them to ****us.

What has NAMI DC have done for people with mental disabilities? Nothing at all. But lying to the IRS and to the DC tax payers. Ms. Jean Harris is a crook she prays on people with mental illness here in the District that really is not a NAMI Chapter and her family meetings are not NAMI model.. She has never been trained under NAMI either

NAMI drug pushers junk mail spammers, stop sending my mother newsletters !! When you call things what they are, it’s very clear. NAMI is essentially SPONSORED by DRUG COMPANIES and what’s true in television and radio certainly holds true in large organizations — Never go against the sponsors. It is the one golden rule . It takes a lot of nerve to call your organization a patients’ advocacy group when half to two-thirds of your funding comes from companies that are constantly facing class action lawsuits, federal lawsuits or both for not disclosing adverse findings in clinical trials, lying about known health risks, directly causing death and chemical injury and illegally marketing their most powerful and unpredictable drugs off label. NAMI could hardly be more blatant in aligning their methods with the commercial interests of these companies.

I am a previous client of the Center....they suck...life is so much healthier without them...especially any contact with Alan !!

One of the critical problems facing the Washington dc metro area, and large cities the Nation over has been the insidious creation of a primary tier of psychiatric services being administered by local. Jails, many of which are privatized thus ensuring their primaryconcern is to their shareholders dividends, thereby motivating private wardens to cut to the bone essential services across the medcal spectrum.
Many,if not most,of these mentally ill offenders would be better seved by the Somes and Mclendon Centers of the world, at a dramatically different price tag to the American Taxpayer while at the same time providing better supervision working with mental health courts the Nation over.
